As you walk down the path of the forest, you will look to your left and noticed lights and a soft melody of music echoing through the trees. As you come closer you will see a clearing with a wide space to grab your partner or in this case date, and dance the night away with them. There is a table set up with refreshments and food and fireflies seem to dance around wanting to make your head all dizzy, this my friends is the summer ball and all are welcome to come to this event. We hope you will enjoy your time here, and who knows the date you have come with could blossom into something more perhaps.
A young girl the age of fourteen arrived, her dress may look strange to some people but she didn't care.It had like a blue top a little ruffled on the short sleeves, then clear white sleeves that went down to her hands. The bottom half was white and flowing, and she wore black shoes to match the ribbons on her hair and the front of her dress. She had put her hair down for tonight, and had really frilly ribbons to match something she has like since being really little.
Glancing around she noticed her date wasn't here yet,and see as how some seats we're made up she went to sit down and wait.Feeling her heart flutter she gave a smile, this was so beautiful it was almost like something out of a fairytale book but she would never say that out loud.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another had joined the party grumbling and saying some things under her breath about the dress she was wearing, this was not her she didn't like dresses and she always thought she looked fat in them. And what the hell a yellow bow to tie her hair back, and the top half of her dress was showing her cleavage she also had white gloves to match and shoes and stockings. The gloves had black lace on the top that stopped near her shoulder almost, she even had a purple choker to match.
"I swear if anyone says anything bad,i'll grind them into the ground".
Sheena sulked and just stood to the side, why a dress she hated prancing around in this.It made her feel like one of those rich girls back home, but they we're stuck up and that was one thing she was not.Glancing around she noticed a few other people who had arrived, the music was playing softly and the moon shined above. "You're beloved queen has arrived!" Rikka watched the students walked in and look for their dates. Arms crossed she was leaning on the table with the food and punch. God, just because she was president she had to come early to help set things up. It was so boring! She was reading her manga! Yeah most girls would be getting ready but she was reading her manga and having fun. After all she didn't need to get ready anyway. Her date was most likely not spending time on it either, just the way she liked it. Besides, she always look good anyway so why bother putting on make up and perfume. She hated those girlie things, always so annoying and frustrating to put on. Ever since the incident five years ago she went screw it.
A sigh escaped her lips. This was getting too boring! Soon though she eyed the cups and a grin grew on her face. Good thing she had pulled her prank though as she was the first person to get to the forest. She had poked small holes in all of the cups so no one can ever get their drink. Of course she had secretly stashed some sodas for her and her butler, Kuro. Where was the stash, well lets just say it was the last place anyone would look. Yes the very last place. She resisted the urge to chuckle as she walked away from the table.
Her mind drew towards her companion. It's not a date, it's not a date. She had to keep telling that to herself. They were just doing this as servant and master. Quickly she nodded to no one in particular. Although she couldn't help but wonder what he was going to wear. Most likely something casual, just the way she would like it. It would surprise so many people and the look on their face would be worth it. Even more was that she was going with an upperclassman. Now the look on their face would be priceless. Too bad she didn't bring a camera but she did bring her cellphone with her. It was strapped on her anklet.
She soon eyed Selena. Another sigh escaped her mouth. She was going to have to be nice to her today especially with what happened at the tennis court. Gahh! Why was she feeling so guilty over this? Whatever the sooner she says it the sooner she can get this feeling over with. Even more was the fact that she had nothing else better to do. She walked over to the girl and took a deep breath to mentally prepare herself. After a small moment though she couldn't handle it anymore and rolled her eyes. "Nice dress? Who's the unlucky guy?" she asked once again using a snide comment. She couldn't help herself.

What a time to transfer... Syaoran let out a deep sigh as he walked into the clearing. With almost every step he gave an uncomfortable shrug of his shoulders or reached up to loosen his collar. Barely time to throw his stuff into a dorm and change before attending his first school party. If only his parents hadn't checked the school calendar before sending him off.
"There's going to be a school dance right after you arrive, Syaoran. I expect you to attend and give a full report afterward. Social functions like this are your main reason for going to this academy young man, so you'd better learn to mingle as befits a Li."
Sigh. Shrug. Loosen tie again... and then straighten it again. Even though he was now oceans apart from his family in China he could almost feel their eyes on him, making sure he didn't do anything to upset the family name.
High class? Anyone looking at him might mistake him for a bellboy. Though he had tried his best to dress in black and white the colors didn't really suit him with his brown hair and green eyes. Instead the black tie and suit over white shirt made him look overly, uncomfortably formal. From his face one might think he was attending a funeral.
"And don't you dare just sulk by the refreshment table!"
Another sigh at the memory of his parents' instructions. So what was he supposed to do? Hands in pockets he tried to stay near the fringe and simply willed the night to pass by without anything drastic happening.

i spy with my lone eye. directed to : anyone
Bloody hell. It was the first thought that came into mind as he walked down the path deeper into the forest, the same thought which crossed his mind when he started to hear music, and his current thought as his eye took in the sight before him. The place looked nice, fairly high class, but the atmosphere seemed... tense, or awkward? Then again, it was a ball filled with teens who probably knew squat about what to do. There were separated sides, one filled with boys and the other half with girls, then some of the brave ones coming together and shyly looking at one another as if asking for permission, and then the rest who just looked on with a bored expression.
That would be, most definitely, him.
He heaved a sigh, dragged one hand over his hair and let out a scoff. What the hell was he supposed to do here? The only reason why he even bothered to monitor the whole event was because most of the teachers who signed up were with dates, not that he was jealous or anything, meaning that there would be no order. Yeah, he was there to keep order... or probably instigate a riot or something. On the other hand he had been bored and this was the only way to kill time, besides, perhaps something of interest would happen? "Be ready ya maggots." And he grinned a feral smile before stepping to the side, propping himself to a nearby tree, and looked on.

((-_-))
Why am I here again? Kohaku asked herself this question over and over again. She never really understood why people enjoyed these social gatherings. No one was doing anything in the first place. There was separation within the area. Just to break the barrier a bit (and to stay away from girls with perfume), Kohaku stood on the side that had mostly guys.
Kohaku pulled her hat down lower. She didn't really take much time to get ready. No make-up, no fancy dress or accessories, and her life was perfect. Her own simple black dress felt a bit too constricting. Ignoring the gasps and stares of others, she tore the dress at the side from the bottom to about her knee. Much better.
Damn... Somebody do something...
She kept her poker face on as she observed the other students. The cups had holes at the bottom and she wanted to see someone get a drink on themselves. That would be great. Kohaku fingered at the ribbon she wore around her neck and smirked. She tried working out ideas (that she would probably not carry out) that would make it more interesting. Someone start a fight. That would be good.

The orangette frowned, stumbling slightly on the blue highheels on his feet. Why did he agree to come here with him?! Why on earth did he wear this...dress?! Well, Shiki and Eri spent alot of time and effort onto it, and it did certainly show.
And the boy was certainly brave enough to pull it off.
Sighing, he glanced at the lights and fireflies that neared, hearing the soft music. He wasn't one for social events...no. He wasn't one for Joshua either, but that didn't seem to stop that one either. He fixed the bows in his hair carefully before glancing at the people who where already here. And him not being one of them.
"Typical Joshua..." he grumbled irritably, taking a seat on an avalible chair. All he could do was wait for his, dare he say, date. Lets just hope this doesn't end in tradgity either...

The young flower maiden had just entered the forest, her crimson orbs observing the area. Her black strapless dress blew with the gentle breeze, her matching black gloved hands touched the blooming flowers, a gentle smile creasing her lips.

Lien swallowed hard as she entered the ball. Her long red dress clung to her body, her heart was going a little faster than normal, and she swore if she did a face plant from wearing these stupid heels it would figure. Her long black hair was curled, swept into a nice hair do and her makeup was done perfectly to frame her face and make her crimson-purple eyes stand out. She had worn all read. The dress, the shoes, the earrings, and even the little clips and silk flowers in her hair were bright red. It had reminded her of the robe Inuyasha wore. And what would he wear tonight? For some reason she figured he would wear the kimono robe that he always wore. It was okay... he looked very sexy in it to her. Lien's heels clicked lightly against the ground as she headed towards the refreshment table, parched so she poured herself a drink, and turned to look at everyone who was here. There was Kohaku... the poor girl looked bored as heck. She finished her drink off and threw the plastic cup away, and then headed over to Kohaku and playfully bumped her hip into the girl with a grin. "Oi... don't you look all loverlied up." Lien laughed softly. "You look nice, Kohaku... bored... but nice, and I have to say waiting till you got to the party to rip the dress... a real lady like quality, but hey... it's not like they have etiquette classes here right?" she teased softly.

Tieto slowly walked into the vast opening. He was taken in by the picturesque scenery. He looked around and saw giggling girls over by the what he supposed was the dance floor and moved his eyes to the other side to see the boys, grabbing punch and eyeing up the girl they proabably would ask to dance with.
Hakuren isn't here yet...... maybe I was supposed to meet up with him. Or maybe he's just running late.... no. Am I early. Yeah I'm probably just early. He looked around again and realized the standing in the entrance was probably suspicious. He moved his way over to the punch and grabbed a cup.
See, I shouldn't have come. This is why we didn't have ball's at the military academy. A) There were no girls and B) The ability to dance and socialize is not needed in battle.
After filling his cup he went and sat by the table next to the fountain to wait for Hakuren. With out realizing it. he fell asleep. He had been training all night and didn't really go to bed untill 5 and was woken up by Mikage who was hungry and wanted breakfest.

Inuyasha slowly made his way towards the ball. He had heard rumors buzzing around about it all week, and figured he might as well check it out. And, perhaps, Lien would be there, and he'd have the chance to catch up with her on everything. He swallowed nervously, hoping she wasn't mad or upset at him. And what if Kagome and/or Koga showed up.. Oh god. He let out a slightly irritated sigh, as he neared the scene. He was wearing his usual red kimono; Inuyasha wasn't exactly the type to dress up, and well, even if he was, he didn't really know how.
Reaching the party, he stopped on the outside, trying to find people he knew. He scanned the crowd, seeing a bunch of random girls in dresses and guys in tuxes, and well, a guy in a dress too actually. He slowly took steps into the crowds, looking around. And then he saw her; she was speaking to another girl- her hair curled, in a beautiful slim dress. He blinked, staring at her for a moment. She looked so lovely and elegant, he was almost ashamed to walk up to her, the way he was dressed.
However, he got his courage up and made his way towards her, slinking in and out of the crowd in a forward direction. He grinned as he got closer to her, coming up behind her silently. "Well, hello there.." He whispered in her ear. He put the tips of his fingers on her back lightly, not wanting to scare the shit out of her but trying to surprise her. "Don't you look all classy." He teased, the grin still upon his face.

Envy slyly strolled into the scene, dressed up in a black and white tux; his emerald hair gleaming in the afternoon sun and his eyes shining. His hands were stuffed in his pockets, as he critically looked around the area. Okay, this guy's a tool.. That girl's easy.. We all know that guy isn't really into girls.. We all know that girl is just an attention whore.. He went through his stereotypes as he walked. Random people he didn't know, but hell, what did he care? He knew damn well they were judging him as well.
He glanced over to the kid sleeping with punch in his hand, making his eyebrow raise in curiosity a bit. A few different pranks ran through his head, but he decided not to act on any. He smirked to himself, walking past the boy, as he focused on other people. He then spotted his roommate, sitting by herself, probably waiting for her date. He grinned. This could be fun.

Lien turned quickly to gaze into Inuyasha's eyes, her cheeks flushing a bit as she looked right into those perfect amber eyes. "Hello Inuyasha... I was hoping you would show." her eyes flicked over his robes and she smiled even brighter. "And in exactly what I thought you would wear... it's why I dressed in this color... to match you." she whispered and leaned forward to gently kiss his cheek, then stepped back and felt her face blushing brightly. He looked as handsome as usual... his hair was clean, his face as rugged and handsome as the first time they met. She couldn't believe he was really here... she had wanted him to come but she highly doubted he danced. She felt so out of her element in a nice dress. Mihkal had given her the money to get all dolled up for this... it was her first dance, her first time getting all dressed up and for some reason she was having doubts about her looking as good as the other girls. Her eyes looked aruond for a bit, and then back to Inuyasha. She didn't care if that girl showed up... she was just so happy he had come. "Your clothes look a little nicer today then they did the other day in the forest. I suppose it helps that you haven't been falling out of trees again, hmm?" she smirked, feeling a bit better when she was being her usual sarcastic self rather than being nice.

Ever the classical princely type of the Host Club, Tamaki was quick to spot a lady arriving on her own, he quietly (which was amazing for him really) approached Cheza, where she had paused upon the path to admire the flowers. "The flowers are really something magical don't you think, extremely rare to see any blossom during the evening like this and to be able to attract beautiful butterfly of the evening like you, I'd say it quite a special sort of blossom." Tamaki spoke in silky voice, his eyes only leaving their focus on the flower Cheza's index finger rested on when he referred to the butterfly. With a genuine smile the blonde bowed, his blonde bangs falling across his blue-violet eyes, "Would this said butterfly take mercy on this humble dandelion and perhaps share company to this evening's Summer ball?" | |

He grinned at her response, relieved to see that she wasn't holding any grudges. And she could probably tell by his eagerness to see her that he had nothing more to do with Kagome; he would've never came to the dance if he didn't have the feeling Lien would be here. Feeling her lips press against his cheeks, he felt the warmth rise up to his face for a moment, his amber eyes set upon her. "Matching already? Before I know it, we'll have "His" and "Hers" towels in the bathroom." He teased. He actually loved that she did that, it made him feel even more protective of her, made him feel even more like she was his, and they were together.
The structure which their relationship had formed gave Inuyasha extreme relief and comfort; no other romance in his life ever had a definite form, was never stable enough to be depended on. It was back and forth, from awkward to comfortable, from lovers to enemies. But in this short time he felt a new security he hadn't before. He smirked at her sarcastic remark, her sarcasm being one of the things which made him attracted to her in the first place. "What can I say? I was too hypnotized by you." He retorted, throwing the cheezy cute lines at her.

Syaoran drifted awkwardly and aimlessly to avoid any spots of crowding. Eventually his drifting led him over to the refreshment table... Oh well, his parents had told him not to sulk by the refreshments... not that he couldn't touch them.
However, upon picking up a cup Syaoran noticed something odd about it. Holding it up to examine it he noticed that it seemed to have a hole punctured in it. An optical illusion? To test it he ladled some punch into the cup and held it out away from himself. The punch did indeed leak right out in a small stream. In fact it leaked right onto a girl's dress that was standing nearby ((tag anyone who wants to react?)).
Intrigued Syaoran continued examining the cup. Finally he seemed to come to a conclusion. "Funa... yuurei? At a party? Wow... I knew the Japanese were superstitious, but isn't this taking it a little far?"
((OOC Note: Funa-yuurei or boat wraiths are traditional Japanese spirits who ask sailors for a ladle. If given a ladle they will scoop water into your boat with it until you sink. If you refuse they will simply tip your boat over. Thus all Japanese sailors carry a ladle with holes in it so when the wraiths try to fill the boat the water will leak out. Thus Syaoran thinks someone was superstitious and put the holes in the cups to guard against funa-yuurei.))
