About the Roleplayer
Nickname: Rox
RP Experience: About a year, Intermediate level
About the Character
Name: Xemnas
Age: Appears somewhere between 22 and 25; around 9 or 10 in actuality
Anime/Game/OC: Game: Kingdom Hearts
Personality: Everything Xemnas is (or is not, rather) can be summed up in a single word: imposing. Xehanort’s will was strong enough that not only did he create a fully human-shaped Nobody, but also a human-shaped Heartless, which are even more rare. Xemnas used that will, plus his unlimited power over nothingness, to reign over the Organization with an iron fist. He has his own ideas of what’s fair and what isn’t fair, mainly because his motivation is fueled by logic and not morals, so you may not agree with him but you’d be wise not to say so.
History: Xemnas is derived from Xehanort, the boy missing his memories who turned up on Ansem’s doorstep around ten years ago. Ansem took him in along with his other four apprentices, and Xehanort quickly proved to be not only an unusually apt pupil, but a devoted one. He grew very attached to Ansem and thirsted for his superior’s approval, but Ansem cut short his research on the darkness because he felt Xehanort was going too far. In chagrin, Xehanort resorted to swaying his fellows against Ansem and continuing the research, at the cost of their own hearts. This created his Heartless, which took on Ansem’s name and was defeated by Sora, but also his Nobody, Xemnas. Xemnas became the Superior of Organization XIII, as he and the other apprentices pulled together more and more Nobodies. He was also successfully able to recruit Sora’s Nobody, Roxas, whose ability to wield a Keyblade contributed greatly to the Kingdom Hearts the Organization was building. He sent about half his forces to Castle Oblivion with the captured Naminé in order to reel in Sora and convert him to their cause, but the project failed and Naminé and Sora both escaped. Functioning with only half the members didn’t slow him down, though, and Sora continued to whittle them down as Xemnas worked to throw Heartless at him. Ultimately, Sora faced off against Xemnas with Riku and Mickey at his sides, and despite combining with Kingdom Hearts itself, Xemnas was defeated.
Role: Principal
Weaknesses: Foresight (lack thereof), arrogance, tunnel vision
Strengths: Superiority, bent stubbornness, higher level thinking
Weapons/Magic: Aerial blades and power over nothingness.
How did you come to be at the academy?: After the events of Kingdom Hearts, and recognizing that not only the Keybearer but several of the Nobodies formerly under his own employ have gravitated to the school, Xemnas made the logical move of pursuing them and reinstating his power over one and all.
Custom Title: The Superior
RP Sample: It was surreal.
Xemnas was incapable of feeling for his fallen camaraderie, but the thought that he wouldn't be seeing Xaldin around the Castle anymore made his brows draw together in a frown. Xehanort had been no closer to Dilan than he had to Braig or Even or Elaeus or Ienzo. As Xemnas, there was nothing to set Xaldin apart from any of the other Nobodies aside from faith in his abilities. Why, then...
He had no real desire to talk about it except in a scientific sense, and there were precious few to appreciate that anymore, save the lost ones whose input he needed most. If he hadn't crumpled to the Replica, Zexion would have either belittled it or blown it out of proportion. If Riku hadn't eliminated him, Lexaeus would have listened, but probably wouldn't have much to contribute. And if Axel hadn't followed orders, Vexen would have rolled his eyes behind Xemnas's back and explained with forced patience that it was an illusion, nothing more. Xaldin was, of course, gone, and Xigbar seemed to have completely lost touch with the playful but studious man who had been Ansem's apprentice.
...But then, perhaps Xemnas had lost touch with Xehanort as well. He had assumed Ansem's name so completely that at times his memories failed--he didn't stand in front of the desk but behind it, instructing instead of receiving instruction. This was what Xehanort had wanted to become...but so different from what Xemnas, equipped with cold logic, thought he should want. Why look up to a man who isn't willing to give his all? Who will allow himself to be stopped by his heart alone? A heart should be strong enough to pierce the darkness, not so weak as to turn away from it.
Even so...
Xaldin has been eliminated.
The voice still rang in his ears, cold and emotionless as a Nobody's should be.
Your orders, Superior.
And the eyes burned into his, bright yellow eyes that demanded as much as they deferred. There was only one individual in the Castle who wouldn't allow the Superior to be anything else.
Xemnas turned his back on the heart-shaped moon, leaving behind his musings and memories like a tattered quilt, and went to advise Saïx of their next move.
