"You want to remember all the people...who are really important to you..anybody...would choose that."
About the Roleplayer
Nickname: Kitty, if you please.
RP Experience: Erm. Four years, on and off, like a light switch.
About the Character
Name: Naminé
Age: Physically shares Kairi's age, 15, but is actually only a year or two old.
Anime/Game/OC: Naminé is from the Kingdom Hearts series, appearing in Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, and 358/2 Days.
Personality: At a glance, she probably isn't somebody you would remember, and perhaps she would prefer it this way (she doesn't like to call attention to herself and this is evident in the majority of what she does) but to overlook a girl like Naminé is to forfeit a chance to make an unconditional friend.
She is a Nobody of little, soft-spoken words that belie powerful actions; who has come a long way from who she was at birth. Then, she was meek, lonely, and easy to manipulate. Marluxia and Larxene of Organization XIII took ample advantage of the fact that she had never known friendship and used her in a ploy to ensnare Sora with false memories and use him to overthrow the Organization. Though she felt a great amount of guilt, she was successfully pressured into using her ability to edit Sora's memories. She weaved her way in, unlinking and reforming and discarding the chain links, until both Sora and Riku Replica were convinced she was a girl who had lived on the islands with them, one that they had both promised to take care of.
So, even if the result of her tampering was all false, it was because of it that Naminé discovered what it was like to feel secure and wanted by others, what it was like to have true friends. Out of this, a need to protect Sora, and to a lesser extent, Riku Replica, developed, and rebelled against her passive nature. Despite the fact that she is a Nobody, she became someone who was brave enough to stand in danger's way for those she cared about, and when the time came, someone who was strong enough to give up who she cared about the most.
History: Naminé was created in Hollow Bastion when Sora pierced his heart with the Keyblade and made his own Nobody, Roxas. There are very peculiar circumstances surrounding her birth, because Kairi's heart had hidden within Sora's body, and she was a Princess of Heart, which meant there was no darkness in her heart. Because of this, Naminé is familiar with Sora's memories, and has the power to edit them. She is discovered by the Organization, and as soon as they learn of her ability, they take her to Castle Oblivion, where they keep her prisoner.
Their plan, to take control of Sora by replacing all his memories with false ones, is only possible while they have Naminé under their influence. Naminé begins dismantling Sora's memories after she is threatened by some of the C.O. team, like Marluxia and Larxene, so that he believes that she is the girl who is most important to him. They also have her plant identical memories within the Riku Replica. Sora fights his way up C.O.'s levels in pursuit of her, baited by the fake memories.
That's when Axel, who has wised up to Marluxia's plot to overthrow the Organization, throws a wrench in the gears by setting Naminé free. She takes this chance to meet with Sora herself and break the illusion, trying to make him remember Kairi, who was virtually wiped from his mind by her. She also explains to Sora what she was made to do, and apologizes, saying that she was motivated by her loneliness. He forgives her, and there is cuteness. Then, after Marluxia is eliminated by Sora, there is sadness, because Naminé offers to restore his real memories or allow him to keep the ones he has made within the castle. Sora asks her to make him back to the way he was, even though this will cause him to forget her. She stores him, Donald, and Goofy in crystal pods and gets cracking on repairing the broken chain links, promising to take care of the three.
Naminé simultaneously helped out Riku, who was also making his way through C.O., by appearing to him in the for of Kairi and telling him not to fear the darkness, but to accept it as a part of him, later offering to use her power to seal off the darkness in his heart, though she agrees with him when he decides to fight the darkness by himself. Then she teams up with DiZ and Riku, helping them to restore the sleeping Sora.
While they work, Naminé sneaks off to meet with Roxas, Sora's Nobody, quite against DiZ's orders. She interacts discretely with him several times, trying to tell him the truth about his existence and what was happening to him. She reveals a lot to him when he comes to meet her in the old mansion where they are working on Sora, but she is dragged away before she can say more, promising him that one day they would meet again, and then she could tell him everything. Riku, who has also been instructed by DiZ to kill Naminé as soon as she outlived her usefulness and completed Sora's restoration, decides to let her go as a way of thanking her for what she did for him. She disappears into a dark corridor with Axel.
She doesn't make another appearance until much later, where she busts Kairi and Pluto out of The Prison That Never Was. Kairi, who doesn't know Naminé is her Nobody, is hesitant to follow her but learns to trust her quickly. They run off in search of Sora, though Naminé's close proximity to her Somebody causes her to fade in and out of existence as they begin merging. Saïx comes across them before they can find the Keyblade master, but Riku swoops in and manages to drive off the second-in-command. Naminé entrusts Kairi to Riku and ka-poofs.
Everything begins falling in place afterwards, because Naminé [finally] gets a little appreciation, is able to meet with Sora and Roxas again, though, true to their bargain, the former can't remember her at all. Sora and Kairi promise to see each other as much as they can so their Nobodies can be together. Naminé opens a portal that will take her Somebody safely back to Destiny Islands, and then merges with her, feeling that her work is done.
Role: Second year student.
Weaknesses: Quiet about her own needs, and selfless to the point where she sacrifices them to take care of others. Constantly downplays her self worth and feels she isn't deserving of many things because she is a Nobody
Strengths: Is very caring and brave, and also intuitive about others. She works to the best extent with what she has.
Weapons/Magic: Because she was made within Sora's body, and Kairi's heart had no darkness within it, Naminé was born with the ability to go through the memories of the Keyblade master and reassemble them. This also touches whoever else might have been involved in the memories, like Sora's friends, and gives her some power over them in varying degrees. It's not very clear how much she can affect those connected to Sora, but a good example of what she can do with this power is how she crushes the memories within Riku Replika.
How did you come to be at the academy?: There are some places she wants to go, and some people she wants to see. This happens to be one of them.

Darkness, absolute except for when it was lit by will-o'-the-wisp eyes that held no Light within, surrounded her on all sides. Naminé wasn't unfamiliar with it, but this was the first time she was ever truly alone, without obligations or threats or supervision pinning her down and forcing her to return somewhere. Actually, she had nowhere to return to. It was too much for her to expect anyway, being a Nobody meant you didn't get a place to belong to. But she couldn't let that bother her now, not when others needed helping. If she stopped to pity herself for everything she lacked, two promises she had made would be broken, and that just wasn't going to happen.
Eventually Naminé learned to stop looking over her shoulder when she walked the corridors of darkness, and her eyes, so used to sterile walls, acclimated. But the sinking expectation that someone would suddenly reach out and trap her never left. The memories of flowers and bolts of lightning, equally cruel, were too fresh in her mind.
In fact, all Naminé had to do to revisit Castle Oblivion was reach for her sketchpad. In an instant she was blinded by white rooms and weighed down by the guilt she felt when she was forced to manipulate Sora's memories. She could hear The Graceful Assassin's taunting, and The Savage Nymph's insults and threats, as well as Sora's promise that when they met again, they would be friends. It all reminded her of what she still had to do, despite any danger.
Because even with Marluxia and Larxene eliminated, there were still others who wanted Naminé gone, who wouldn't hesitate to snuff her questionable existence like a candle. That was fine, she had decided to go against her orders, and that always meant consequences. She couldn't count on mercy again; she was in no position to demand favors, and she felt like she was on borrowed time anyway. She'd have to work fast if she wanted to keep her promises. It didn't matter that they were half forgotten, they were more real to Naminé than anything.
