About the Character
Name: Rika Koimatsu
Age:14
Anime/Game/OC: OC
Personality:Goth at first look, but if you take time to know her, she is actually pretty nice. She's not one of those cold and uncaring goths, just one that is very interested in paranormal activity. She plays with Ouija Boards, Tarot cards, you name it, she does it. She is a loyal friend and a really kind person.
Description: Rika Koimatsu has black hair, which currently at the moment is short, with a few different colored streaks in her hair. On blue, one black, and one pink. Rika stands at around 5'4, and has fair skin which at the moment has a bit of a tan left over from winter, but it is fading. She has bright crystal blue eyes. She doesn't usually get coldd very easily, and so year round she likes to wear shirts with short sleeves, or sleeves that go about to her elbow. She likes to wear stripes, or black or gray with some sort of bright color pattern on it, like plaid. She doesn't get warm very easily either, and usually wears bright colored skinny jeans. Once in a while, she will wear a skirt with striped leggings. She usually wears gray converse with a purple pattern on them. She has a pair of fake raven wings that she likes to wear.
History: Rika has always had some sort of an odd family. Her mom, Chi-Chi, was always bright and happy, and was convinced that she could change the world into a place of rainbows and happiness, and everybody would get along. You would think it would be nice to have a bright, happy, optimist in the family, but in reality, it was quite annoying. Chi-Chi hated whenever somebody was sad, or pessimistic, and would pester them until they were happy. She especially hated goth's and emo's.
Her dad, Taro, on the other had, was the exact opposite. Well, maybe not the EXACT opposite, but he sure was a lot different. God knows how they ended up together. Taro was more quiet, and appreciated the drama sadness and anger could give. He saw that the world would not survive if everyone was happy, and he tried to support Rika in everyway. Chi-Chi was very unhappy about this.
Now Rika, poor little Rika. She was caught in the middle of it all. A mother trying to make her be happy, and a father trying to encourage her to not be happy all the time. She couldn't take it. She spent most of the days in her room, alone, reading her tarot cards, playing with her ouija boards, etc.
Her mother became very concerned. Nobody knew what Rika was doing in her room, until one day Rika came out totally different. Apperently she had sneaked out of her window, and went to the hair stylist and the mall. Her once long blond hair was now black and short, and she had pink streaks in her hair. Her once peppy and happy dresses and too big shirts were now skinny jeans and dark colored shirts.
Her mother was appalled, while her father stood for her all the way. Chi-Chi couldn't take it anymore, and divorced Rika's father. Rika knew it was all her fault, and fell into depression. It was only when she met Ivy and Lisha, exchange students from America, is when she got out of her hole. They helped pick her back up, and for her to stand up for what is right. Although it did backfire. She realized that it was her father's fault for her mother leaving, and she hated him. She never talked to him, only when it was absolutely nessecary.
Role: First year student
Weaknesses: Low Stamina, rash thinker, low strength
Strengths: Good with swords, speed, has good confidence
Weapons/Magic: Two twin Shamshir's. Shamshir's are swords with a thin blade that curves inward a bit at the end. She trained herself with them while she was in depression.
How did you come to be at the academy?: Needing to get away from her dad, she read about the acadamy on the internet, and knew it was the perfect way to get away from her father, and still be able to learn. It was hard for her to leave her friends, but she knew it was right.
Custom Title: Warrior of the Night
RP Sample: "Rika!" She heard her name called from behind, and she knew the quiet but firm voice in an instant. She didn't even have to turn around. "Ivy, what do you want?" she asked quietly and sadly, her pink bangs falling in her face as she did so. She was wearing her raven wings today, and they prevented the rest of her hair, which had grown long again, (she made a mental note to get it cut), from falling in her face.
From behind Rika, Ivy's face scrunched up in confusion. "How did you know it was me?" She asked slowly and suspiciously. Ivy had always been very cautious, especially since she had arrived in Japan, where everything was so different. Rika turned a round and smiled. "How could somebody not know it was you? You're the most quiet girl on earth!" To Rika's surprise, Ivy seemed to scrunch down in sadness as she said, "Oh."
Rika panicked. She didn't mean to hurt Ivy's feelings! As Ivy began to walk away, she quickly ran after her, and put a hand on Ivy's shoulder. "Hey," She said quietly. "I didn't mean it like that!" She turned Ivy around to face her. "You are still one of the most awesome girls I have ever met, even if you are quiet." Ivy's face cheered up immediatly. "You too Rika."
Rika's face froze in fear, as she remembered what she had to tell her and Lisha, her other exchange student friend. She swallowed her fear and said, "Umm...have you seen Lisha anywhere?" Her impatient mind wanted to get it over fast, as she realized she needed to get there quickly. (Even if she didn't, she would have wanted to get it over.)
Ivy, unaware of all of this, smiled and said, "Yeah, she's over there!" Rika sighed with relief, until she realized they were standing in the middle of a busy street. "We better move over here." Rika said, running towards the side. Ivy's wavy brown hair bounced as she followed. "Lisha!" Rika called, and in a flash, her redhead friend appeared. "Yo!" Lisha waved her hand over her head, to signal her hiding place. Behind a tree. Rika giggled as she thought of how typical it was of her. Her giggle quickly faded as she braced herself to tell.
After her friends had gathered in front of her, eager to hear what Rika had to say, she sighed. "This is really hard to tell you guys but..." She paused, as she looked at them. Ivy looked nervous, and Lisha's was wide-eyed. Rika began to talk very fast. "I'm not going to be living here anymore because I'm going to a boarding school to get away from my dad!" Rika cringed as she waited for the worst.
Although her friends were sad, they looked like they understood. Lisha especially. She seemed to speak for both of them, as Ivy was at a loss for words, and tears slowly began to roll down her cheeks. Lisha stepped up to Rika and said, "We'll miss you until you get back." She embraced Rika in a big hug and said, "Take this." She gave her a purple heart locket. Rika opened it, to see a picture of the three of them taken just days before. Rika smiled sadly as she noticed that Ivy had a pink one and Lisha had a blue one. She broke down into tears as they all hugged and cryed. There were echoes of "I'll miss you!", "Come back soon!", and "Good Luck!" as Ivy and Lisha waved goodbye when Rika went to catch her ride.
