About the Character
Name: William T. Spears
Age: Appears to be in his late twenties.
Anime/Game/OC: Anime (Kuroshitsuji)
Personality: William is a very dull, and rather boring person. He doesn't have a sense of humor, and frankly doesn't seem to even have the ability to laugh or smile. He is disgusted very easily, and if something is done in a way that isn't considered 'his' way, he will instantly grow upset.
He is very work oriented as well. Though he doesn't have much in the way of social skills, he is very good at doing a job, and getting it done, within good time. Whether it's working around the clock, or doing a minor chore, he puts all of himself into getting his task done. William expresses a dislike for anything evil. Demons preferrably. Sebastian is basically the king of all that is unholy in William's eyes, and hates him with all of his being, and even says so.
History:
Not sure if anything in this counts as a spoiler..but eh, just a precaution: SPOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILERS!
Not much is known about William other than the fact that he seems to have known Sebastian for quite some time. Even during his first appearance, he seems to know Sebastian right off the bat, and truly feels a disgust for him. This could possibly be that Sebastian was the only demon he couldn't eliminate. Perhaps it was his bond to a human child that prevented him. Perhaps it was Sebastians ability to slip past his eyes. Not much was known for sure, except the dislike the Shinigami had for him.
William first had to deal with the Shinigami known as Grell. Even though Grell was one of his own kind, he was truly disgusted by him, and even beat him to a pulp without hesitation just for causing him trouble. After this occasion, he would be forced to work longer hours in order to pick up Grell's slack, while he remained in 'detention' so to speak. He would constantly follow Sebastian around, suspecting him of doing something he really shouldn't be doing.
It was until the circus came in town that William would once again make his appearance, disguising himself to get into the act, not only to spy on Sebastian and his wrongdoings, but to find out about the children that were reported missing. After all of the chaos that took place within the circus, William, like Sebastian and Ciel, would flee the circus, though once again keeping close to Sebastian to find out all the information that he needed.
And then Grell went missing. It was, if anything, a relief to William, for the red-haired beast was nothing more than a nuisance. Relishing in the idiot's abscence, he was quite content with his new, calm life... but low and behold, the higher-ups discovered where Grell had run off to, and sent him to keep the imbecile out of trouble. Thus, his new living hell begins..
Role: Disciplinarian
Weaknesses: Scheduled. He lives his life on a schedule. A schedule so enforced that he has rarely any time for a social life. This doesn't help him in a case to where he could possibly have friends to back him up in a scenario where he is put in a corner, he is alone. He may also rush into some situations dangerously. He usually has good perception of what he can, and can not handle, but if he is told to do something, he will do it, and do it quickly, even at the risk of his life.
Sleeping. Though he is much like Sebastian in almost every sense, he is unlike him in one way. His energy comes at a limit, and being a pure soul, he needs sleep, just as a human would. While Sebastian can fight without growing tired, William cannot. This is likely one reason as to why he likes to end fights early, to ensure that he wouldn't get tired in the long run from exhaustion.
Honesty. William is brutally honest no matter what the case. He is not afraid to tell anyone anything about himself, or anyone else. If a man is fat, and disturbs William, he will blatantly remark to it, calling the man fat and disgusting, and rude for wasting his time. He will also tell of himself being a Shinigami, or that Sebastian is a demon. He's open about the world of the paranormal, and though no one takes him seriously, he is very serious.
Strengths: Forward. He's a man that likes to get things done, as quickly as he possibly can. He doesn't feel the need to glorify a fight, and will make quick work of his opponent, not even giving them a fair chance, no matter how weak they may appear.
Physical prowess. He's as fast as he is strong. Though he appears to be a tall, lanky sort of man, he is a very well trained shinigami, and has athletic abilities way beyond a human. He has a keen sense of hearing, smell, and other things, and also has good perception abilities to help his assumptions be correct most of the time.
Intelligence. William holds a great amount of intelligence when it comes to fighting, or doing his job. He has a large memory which allows him to remember which souls to send, which souls to save, and which demons are to be watched, and killed. He can also assess a situation and figure out the problem within a matter of seconds, much like Sebastian. These are some reasons why he is often thought to be Sebastian's equal, yet opposite.
Weapons/Magic: His death scythe, which takes the shape of stainless steel pruning shears.
How did you come to be at the academy?: Someone has to keep an eye on Sutcliffe.
Custom Title: The No-Nonsense Shinigami
RP Sample: The rooftops were much brighter than the streets below, seeing as how the evening was setting in, and only the moonlight would give the best light, and the street lanterns were only beginning to be lit by the workers that did this tedious job. William stood atop of one of the buildings, his death scythe in hand, watching over the town, and giving his usual surveillance to make sure nothing out of the ordinary was going on. This place however, just being here, was out of the ordinary. Murderers. Street thieves. London had it all. It wasn't William's place to get into any business that wasn't of his own. If a soul wasn't on the list, then he wasn't going to take care of it, even if it meant out of the goodness of his heart to protect someone. People had their own ways of dying, and the sad truth of being murdered did exist. William however hoped in the back of his mind that he wouldn't be seeing any of this. If he had, it would only mean more overtime.
Using the tip of the snipper-scythe, he would adjust his glasses, only to leap to the next building over after the simple gesture. Giggling women on the streets below taunted the supposed 'gentlemen' that walked past them. Prostitutes did exist in this old aged world, and there were many of them that came out at night. It was a rather sad truth to living in this town. The day where women had to sell themselves for money, was just plain ridiculous in his eyes. "Tch. Wasteful." A simple remark coming from the outspoken shinigami's lips before he would make another leap to the next building. Half of him hoped to see that disgusting demon, Sebastian Michaelis, just so he could rid the world of him. Then again however, he knew all too well how intelligent Sebastian was, and knew that he would do nothing to endanger his chance of getting the tasty little soul of the spoiled brat he looked after.
William reached down to his opposing hand, adjusting his glove and tugging it back up his wrist to tighten it. Tonight was a rather boring night, but a night where nothing was happening, usually was a good night for William. It meant no extra work. That was just what he wanted. As much as he was a workaholic, he couldn't stand it. He was good at his job, and never failed to what he was told, but being good at a job, and liking a job, were two different matters.
