Alchemy...that was the thing he hated the most. It was the thing he blamed on for his situation. It was all because of alchemy. If it wasn't for alchemy he would have a normal life, he would have been helping his parents baking or maybe he would have been doing something much more productive than this. Being a teacher, it was the last thing he wanted to do. He hated school lessons that just makes him feel boring. The teachers here when he was a student was so boring that class seemed to drag. Being a teacher was something he would rather die than actually be. Yet here he was, a science teacher. Why? Well it was because he had nothing better to do. He was too young on the outside to be taken seriously and the principal was the only one who too him seriously so he figured why not? It wasn't like he could do anything else. Who's fault was this? Well it was whoever created alchemy's fault, that's who.
A sigh escaped his lips in the empty classroom. Alchemy, god how he hated that thing. He wanted to destroy it, he wanted it to leave him alone yet it always haunts him in the back of his mind. Taunting him, slowly pulling him closer like the devil. His eyes lowered at his own desk, blue eyes showing sorrow. Fists tightened he got out of his chair and walked over to the window. Class wasn't going to begin yet for a few more hours so why was he even here?
The thought made him chuckle a little. Guess he must be having a mental breakdown or something. It would be about time. He shook his head, he knew he wasn't, not yet anyway. Well since it was going to be a while before class begin he might as well just prepare a lesson plan or something. Yet something in the back of his mind kept on suggesting him to do alchemy. He really wanted to kill the that thought but he knew it would never leave him alone. Alchemy was something fun to him no matter how much he tries to convince himself. He doesn't even know why? No, who was he kidding? He knew why, it was because alchemy was one of the only things he was good at and praised for. He wanted people to look up to him and so he always does it.
Slowly he took out a small piece of metal. He knew that he wasn't allowed to have a gun on the premises but well he liked guns. They were something that he found fun and it wasn't like he killed people with it or anything. With that he placed his hand over the small piece of metal and it transmuted into a gun. He had to make it into the small piece of metal or else he would get caught. He held the gun up a little before he tossed it up into the air, obviously bored. It was strange though, usually one would need a transmutation circle but yet when he didn't need one ever since he passed that gate. Ever since he was forever sixteen.
Slowly, he placed it on the table and transmuted to a an earring. Might as well make it an accessory. Slowly he put it on his right ear. It felt weird wearing accessories but still this way he would always feel it on his body and would feel safe just in case anyone wanted to kill him. Though in a peaceful place such as this he highly doubted it. He took a pencil from his desk and started writing the components for a human. It still haunted him, his one and only failure of alchemy. He got everything perfectly so how come his brother never came back. Instead his ability to age was robbed of him. Wait, no that wouldn't exactly make sense. He never saw what happened so maybe his brother did come back. The thought made him smile a bit but then the tale of the Elric brother struck his mind. What if his brother became a monster.
"No!" he cried out to himself. His voice echoed the room. What was he thinking? Someone could have heard him. He shook his head a little and threw the paper in the trash. His brother was alive there he wasn't a monster. He wasn't...Saito didn't make him into a monster. The bell soon rang interrupting his thoughts as he stared at the seats. It would be best for him to act normal now and so he took out an ice cream from his small fridge and started to eat it. Ice cream always have that magical properties of easing his mind.

The sun was bright. The rays of its glory were filtering through the clouds in sparkling beams. Deverux shielded his eyes slightly as he looked onward-- past the Arches and towards the forest. It was an awe-inspiring sight, and what a beautiful day to start school. His first day at Chocolat Academy. The wind ruffled around his body like invisible tendrils and made ripples along his maroon-ish red uniform. With his posture straight up and down, he stood 5'11 and only weighed 145.
"Master Damien..."
Damien turned from the entrance, toward the main buildings, his two different colored eyes focusing upon his Chauffeur. The right gleamed a emerald green with a blue hue around the outside, while his left was a deep sea sapphire with the green around the outside. He nodded curtly as he clasped his hands behind his lower back and walked through the massive arches.
"I know, I know.." He murmured to his chaperone.
Why can't my parents ever see me off on my first day? He sauntered along in his thoughts. It's been ever so long since then... The concentration of his thoughts reached back to his first grade year at his fourth school. It was the last day he remembered his parents being able to escort him to his new academy. The medium length of his mocha colored hair hovered to the right as he walked, the wind showering them from the other side.
The entrance was just ahead and there was already a small group waiting his arrival. The superintendent and the student who'd be showing him to his classes on this day. Damien was a quick learner, so it wouldn't be necessary for the student to do it the whole week. Sebastion was carrying a couple bags and such on a light-weight trolley. He was to take it to Damien's dorm, although Damien said he would do it, but Sebastion declined. It was strictly 'his job'. Damien didn't mind being taken care of, but he didn't like everyone doing everything for him. He'd never gotten use to it. To him, it made him seem like he was useless, and to others it made him seem spoiled. Neither was a good output for him
As Sebastion went along his way; the superintendent had given him a map, she began to explain the rules and codes of conduct in a very rushed manner. Damien grinned, slightly and thought to himself.
Falling a bit behind, are we? Well, I suppose well get behind on these sort of days. He didn't want to further relish the thought and payed attention, but she had already finished. The gist of it was enough and his student helper had already began to lead the way, smiling cheerfully and waving for Damien to follow her.
"Hi, I'm Aimee. Your first class is Alchemy.. It's a fun class. Well, if you are good at it-- otherwise it can be a bit of a headache, but it always get's better. Make sure not to do...."
She drifted on with her stories and such and Damien vaguely nodded, giving expressions and comments on all the proper parts at the right time.
"Phew.. Sorry, I didn't get to hear anything about you. Here's your class though. If you need..."
"Thank you, Aimee. For your help."
Was all he said and he had meant it, although it sounded monotone, he just wanted to settle into a new environment first. He entered the Alchemy class; he seemed to be a bit late, but since he was new, he doubted the teacher would make a big fuss about.
Damien Deverux just stood at the door, sort of near the back, and looked around to examine the room, and the students, and the teacher. He wasn't sure what to do or say, so he waited until he was noticed, which could be hard with these uniforms everywhere.
Well, at least I can be chipper about something... commented inside his mind. A class he's never heard or learned anything about. This should fair interesting.

Saito stared at the new comer for a moment. What was he doing there? That was when it hit him, there was a new student today. He had completely forgot that, mainly because he never really thought people believe in alchemy. Even more was that alchemy was pretty hard to do in this world and it took more out of him than it did back in his. He scratched the back of his head, at the thought on how much of a klutz he was. Yeah, note to self, write down things that are important next time. Well he might as well just go ahead and make up for it now right? Yeah, that sounded like a good idea. He quickly push the thoughts of the past in the back of his head and decided to have that usual persona of a happy teacher. Well, as happy as he can be with such a low salary really.
"Oh yeah I forgot. We have a new student today." he stated. Now what was his name again? He looked at his desk with the mess of papers. Yeah, maybe he should ask for a teacher assistant to sort these things through. He soon found the unfamiliar name as he always made sure to remember his student's name. After all, it was their identity and he respected that."His name is Damien Deverux." he introduced the student. As usual he waited to see if the person had anything to say. During that time he silently counted to see if there was anyone absent in his class. At the same time he checked for any empty seats for the person to take.
Today's subject was going to be on how to transmute metal into accessories, something that he considered easy. That might be due to the fact that he had been doing it for pretty all of his life though. He stared at the material that he had gathered, on the school's money of course. After all, he had better things to do with his own money, and that was mainly buying sweets for himself but still. There were times where he would buy guns as well. After all, he was interesting in guns and video games about it didn't exactly help him either. The thought made him smile a bit at how gullible he was at buying those things especially seeing how he wasn't even suppose to have them in the first place.
Slowly he stared at all of his students. Some seems to be eager, mainly because they considered alchemy to be magic. In a way though it was magic in this world. Not everyone had the capabilities to do it and even more was that it was something technology can't do, at least not yet anyway. He stared at the person for a moment as he silently remembered why he was even teaching this class in the first place. It wasn't because he had wanted to. He hated alchemy, at least that's what he had told himself. The principal knew of his abilities and since the students wanted to learn about so much he had Saito teach the class but promised him that it would be temporary. He agreed for only one reason, he was allowed to have his guns as long as he hid them and that he was allowed to have ice cream in his room.
At that thought, he liked his ice cream that was still n the cone like a little kid. It tasted great, mainly because it was his favorite flavor. He stared at the kid and decided that he might as well let him pick where he wanted to sit."You can sit wherever you want, as long as it's not taken that is." he stated with a small smile.

Damien stood straight, his arms clasping around the alchemy book he was given by the student aid, It has to be paid for later... That's alright. I'll remember. He said, lost inside his thoughts. Although the class wouldn't know, because to them, he just looked like he was surveying the class. He was very good at hiding his emotions at first, but he was also good at multi-tasking while doing it. Just like he was.
Most of the students turned to stair at him, amused by the luxuriously silent boy who just stood there. The teacher had spoken his name, but without a command, Deverux just continued to stand there. His eyes, with their peripheral view, picked up various materials in the room. Metal, alkaline, adamantine, ursertrix... It was a metal wonderland. He knew of the materials, but he didn't know what their purpose was; perhaps this class would be the beginning of knowledge waterfall into his mind. His mouth pulled up on one side, into a smug, and statuesque smile.
The teacher seemed to be racking through his own mind because his desk seemed to be a muck and not organized to his own liking, unless he truly didn't care. A step ahead of the teacher, as he continued to flush in his own thoughts, Damien examined which seats where open and there were a few-- One next to a rather voluptuous girl, one next to what seemed to be a scrawny individual boy, and then an empty desk. Over the two, he seemed it'd be cliche to sit next to the girl, and then an immediate outcast by sitting next to the boy. It wasn't out of pity or anything with ego, but rather... he'd like to make himself stand out more and allow people to see him for who he is, rather than a cliche. He began walking to the empty desk, which was in the front left of the classroom, just as the teacher had announced he could take a seat. Just as he was sitting, he looked at his desk in open to find a name tag for his teacher
Mr..... Sumeragi Saito. So, this is Alchemy...

Quiet, that was the one thing that entered Saito's mind as the boy took his seat. Really, couldn't he just wait or was he impatient as well. He rolled his eyes at that thought as he continued the lesson without any actually care for the new student. He didn't seem like the talkative type and even more was that he didn't really like the fact the boy didn't wait for him. Don't students usually say something like nice to meet you anymore? A small smile tugged his lips at that thought. Wow, he felt old for thinking that. Oh well, whatever, he was passed eighteen after all. Although his body didn't look like it at all. Especially with the fact that he loved ice cream and it was the only thing that kept him from yelling right now. Deverux better be thankful to the guy who invented ice cream. If only they have this back in his world.
"And so after you draw your incantation you perform the three steps, analyze, decompose and than reconstruction. And remember the rule of equivalent exchange: one must gibe up something to obtain something of equal value." he informed them. Although it was lies, sometimes people were born with things without having to work for it and than there were those who work for something but never got it. Just like...he mentally shook his head. Right now wasn't the time to think about that. He had to focus on the lesson right now.
Slowly he took off his earring and drew an incantation although he didn't need one. He didn't want people to ask how he knew that since in truth he didn't really know. He was sure that it had something to do with that gate though. The gate that appeared out of no where with that strange shadows and those hands. His eyes winced as he remembered the fear that had enveloped him. Really, why can't bad memories just leave him alone? It would make life so much easier for him. Maybe life just hates him or something.
He placed his hands on the drawing and it glowed and soon the metal transmuted itself into a bracelet. He didn't exactly wanted to go with the original form which was a gun. He knew the students would question why there was a teacher with a gun and that would bring the principal trouble and in the long route the teacher would be in trouble himself. After he had demonstrated the idea he figured he might as well let the students do it. After all one learn though experience don't they? "Now if none of you have any questions, take a piece of metal from my desk and try it myself. If any of you have questions than just come up and ask me." he stated nonchalantly.

Deverux sat in his chair neatly, his back against it in perfect form, while his knees and legs were straight. His hands were clasped together, like he were praying, and directly in front of his chest, aligned. From the looks of his new teacher, maybe silent wasn't the right course. Damien thought to himself as his eyes were transfixed on the teacher, who among himself, was lost in a series of his own thoughts.
I thought silence was a good thing for most teachers unless asked upon to do whatever they say. Maybe this was the wrong course to take with this one... Or maybe it's just not a good day. I don't know, but something seems off-- I can feel it. Maybe I was just too polite and too mysterious at the moment. It could be repaired, I believe. Not by my hands literally, of course...
He continued with his thoughts and occasionally glanced at his hands. Damien's hands were unique. Tilting his head ever so slightly, Deverux blinked while eagerly waiting for the lecture to begin. Transmutation was the subject for today's lesson. It was a little amount of stuff to do, but nevertheless it was a prelude of greater things to come in this course. During the lecture, however, he noticed something strange. Mr. Saiga's eyes winced and he had paused. It was ever so slight, so to him, as Deverux use to do the same thing when it involved past memories, could see it. Shrugging on the inside, he wasn't sure if anyone else could tell.
Damien was intrigued by the articulation Mr. Saito used in describing how it worked. He'd never had thought it would have been such a combination. Leaning forward he watched closely as the markings were drawn and also as it became absorbed in a mysterious light; that was the best way Dev could describe it, at any rate. It was mysterious, nothing more or less about it. After the demonstration was done, the students, along with Damien had gotten up to retrieve their metals.
He was among the first and upon retrieving his metal chunk he held it in his right hand and stepped aside to allow the others to get theirs as well. Upon feeling the smooth metal against his palm, he felt a nick in it. He flipped it over and saw that a indent and a small fissure was lined across the entire backside.
"Oh.." Was all he said as his hand covered the stone.
A warm sensation filtered from his palm, elusive from the rest of the class. The microscopic particles in his palms became apparent and absorbed into the metal. Slowly, the stone began to stitch together with it's own composition and finally was it restored to perfection. He placed the metal upon his desk and looked at the teacher.
"I have a question, Mr. Saito." He said in a very even toned voice; calm and inquiring.
"For equivalent exchange would that inquire that the amount I use, for say that the amount I have is 8 oz. and it can only be shaped into another 8 oz. material, but whatever the shape or object may be is up to the er... Alchemist?"
He wasn't entirely sure if he made sense, but he hoped he didn't sound like he was repeating what the teacher had just said, either.

As the class got up and get their stuff, Saito noticed that he had finished his ice cream. Dang it, that was his last one of the day, now he had to get more. Joy, well he was going to go to the groceries store after this. Man, why couldn't alchemy make ice cream for him? If he ever got the philosopher stone he would definitely use it for two things, to go back to his world for a moment and see how things turn out, maybe even see his brother again, that is if he even recognized him. Then there was...nahh he was pretty sure he didn't do anything wrong with it.
The second thing he was going to do would be to make ice cream for himself out of thin air. Than he would never be out of ice cream. Which was not childish, ice cream is something adults can enjoy as well. He refused to agree with people on how ice cream is something that belongs to the world of children. Seriously, who even came up with that? Sure whoever it is, must had been a big idiot to even begin to think that. Ice cream is like chocolate, it could be appreciated by everyone but apparently all the other adults are far too blind to see that. Oh well, it's their lost anyway so he didn't care about it at all.
"I have a question, Mr. Saito."
Eh? The teacher turned his head towards the new student and nodded in a way to urge him on. So now he decided to talk. The thought amused him for a moment but he knew he had to focus on the question. Alchemy was quite dangerous after all. Although he was still a bit happy on fantasizing the idea of always having ice cream with him. He couldn't help it, ice cream was his sanctuary from getting too angry. Now he wasn't sure if he was going to make it though out the day with many people wondering why a teenager was a teacher. Really, it wasn't his fault he looked like this and wasn't it the inside that count?
"For equivalent exchange would that inquire that the amount I use, for say that the amount I have is 8 oz. and it can only be shaped into another 8 oz. material, but whatever the shape or object may be is up to the er... Alchemist?"
His words made Saito smiled, so someone hs done their homework. He was starting to like the guy already. He nodded at the question."Yes it's up to the alchemist although the more complicated the shape, the more energy it takes out."[/'color] he answered. Especially in this world for some reason he wasn't exactly sure. He kept quiet though at that part since the students were not to learn of his world. Besides, they would most likely think that he is a crack pot for even suggesting that. He has yet to figure out why though, but since it's been in a while since he have performed alchemy back over there. It's been a couple of years after all.

Damien's cheeks formed small dimples on both sides, as the corners pulled up into a gleeful smile. He had only taken an educated guess from the short lecture. It made sense to him how the economics worked with dealing with alchemy, but whether or not you have the skill or passion to do it which made it work. Of course there weren't many things like this in the world. Deverux often thought of these things in life. As shallow as life could be, he tried to think on a deep level, because he so wanted to expect more from the world; even if he knew expecting anything from such a place could be hopeless.
"Alright. Oh.. I noticed you drew a symbol upon your material. Is that necessary? It seems like it enhanced the chances of... transmutation into the bracelet. "
He couldn't hide the curiosity because the seal imprinted upon the metal was quite interesting. At the same time, for the first time, Damien noticed the empty bowl of ice cream sitting upon his desk. That was odd, he didn't know teachers were allowed to do that. He smiled to himself at the thought and crossed his arms gently, and neatly across his chest all the while was still focused upon Mr. Saito.

"Alright. Oh.. I noticed you drew a symbol upon your material. Is that necessary? It seems like it enhanced the chances of... transmutation into the bracelet. "
In truth though that was what it states in all of the books he had read. One must write the transmutation circle as it was how alchemy came. No one exactly knew why the transmutation had to be there, although there are many theories about it. The only problem was that none of them were actually proven and remained as theories. Even Saito had some of his own theories in which case he figured that the transmutation circle is like the median that encloses the transmutation so it would be in a small space and makes it safe and easier to focus for humans to use alchemy and so it would be kept under their control.
Although for some reason that gate, that person whoever it was had given him the ability to do it without the use of the circle. Was it a gift? It didn't appear to be a curse. No, in a way it was an exchange forceful but still an exchange. He lost his ability to age and in return he gains this ability. Although because he lost his ability to age, no one takes him seriously and he sees people grow up and move on while he can never do that. While others can look back at how they used to look when they were young, he could only do it back in the old world and even then there weren't that many pictures. He didn't exactly have a photo album or anything like that.
"It's necessary for every transmutation." he lied. After all he can do it without one although he always drew one when he does it in class. It was his way of making him blend in and not stand out. Still he was curious at how he was able to do it as it wasn't any different. He didn't feel anything different when he does alchemy with or without the circle. Well that is other than the fact that with the circle, he doesn't use as much energy but it wasn't really that much of a difference in energy.
In all honesty, he was glad that Deverux was interested in this. Although part of him wanted to warn the boy. Warn him the risks of alchemy and what it had done to Saito but he was able to keep that shut. After all, why would he believe him in the first place? Besides, he doubt that anyone was as stupid as him to actually think that alchemy was magic, especially if if was part of a science class.

It's necessary for every transmutation? Deverux had thought to himself.
But, wouldn't Mr. Saito have actually mentioned that it was an important step in transmutation before actually having us try it? An incantation is something, in which I read read in the book, that is for magic, and Alchemy wasn't suppose to be magic. We'd all just fail without a chance to even create even such an amateur transmutation. Maybe...
He was pulled out of his thoughts because he had only realize that he was actually unaware of his thinking. This would only show he was thinking deeply about something and he really didn't want to have a look of doubt upon his face. Damien might be scolded for it; who knows. He'd rather not take his chances and he looked at Mr. Saito.
"Oh, I see. Well, thank you very much. I'll take my seat now" He announced, more to himself than to the teacher, but he turned himself his metal in his left hand, and returned to his seat, sitting neatly in it.
Flipping open his book, Damien decided he would just look up the actual transmutation circle instead of asking Mr. Saito how he did it; he seemed troubled enough to him about something, but he couldn't put his finger on what.
"Page fifty-two... Ah, here it is" Dev had examined the mysterious sign a couple times, but he'd never tried to draw it. He was still a little skeptical to try, after being shunned about his own power in his own home. Maybe it truly wasn't accepted here and they took those who could do it away to crazy farms. Suddenly, Damien laughed from the pit of his stomach; not loudly, but enough to ward off his silly thoughts. That's not what school is all about.
Damien just stared at the metal in front of him and concentrated on wanting to change it. With a red marker he had left in his coat pocket, he traced the transmutation circle perfectly in the center of the metal. The center because he was just a little over compulsive at times. Not even to the extreme, but just enough to annoy him. He placed his right hand and left hand on either side of the metal and closed his eyes, his finger tips just touching the metal's sides. He thought of the power that should flow through his hands and transmigrate itself into the metal itself.
A silvery white light emitted from his hands and then slithered quickly around the metal engulfing it so that it was unseen. Dev was tempted to look, but he wasn't sure if it was a good idea until it was actually done. When he felt the power leave his hands he opened his eyes, and on the desk where the metal was, was the metal. It... almost turned into what he had wanted it to. He had aimed for it to become a bowl, but it looked like an amateur potter's mistake.
"Eh..." He could just stare at it. Hey, I actually did something.. That's an improvement..

Eh? Saito stared at the boy, he was being a bit quiet at the given information. Was he thinking that it was possible without a transmutation circle? Nahh, he highly doubted it, he was sure that not many people knew about that gate after all or else they'll be a lot of study about it and well transmutation circle wouldn't exactly be needed either. Most of all, everyone would never grow old, which can be considered a good thing but at the same time a bad thing as some people are just sick of their life. They could never gain the peace old people would gain as they die n their sleep. The only way to die was to be killed painfully and well, he really rather not die that way. Although chances are, he would serve it for what he had done. No, it wasn't his fault, besides he had already fixed everything.
"Oh, I see. Well, thank you very much. I'll take my seat now"
The teacher nodded as he exited his own thoughts. He looked around to see that everyone else was already at their table. Well, he should had figured that. He slowly walked around to see how everyone was doing. Most of them were trying to draw the circles but most of it ended up as an oval. Well, it only figures since it was almost impossible to draw a real circle. He wasn't even sure how he was able to do it. Than again, it didn't really matter as in a way it was just to enclose the space. That was the point of the circles in the first place, at least that was what he had came up with anyway. It was never proven after all.
Everyone seems to be doing well so far. No one had messed up yet which was a good thing. After all, he wasn't going pay if they messed up, he had something better to do with his money, a.k.a. ice cream. Which is much better than paying to repair something that he didn't even cause. As he walked down the path though he saw Deverux made a bowl. He couldn't exactly said it was great looking but he had to admit, it was pretty interesting. A metal bowl, one can always use it to cook. Who knows, maybe he'll donate it to the cafeteria. The thought made him chuckle a bit. Although as he came closer he noticed that the transmutation circle was pretty good. Wow, maybe he'll have competition. Doubt it. After all he has an ace up his sleeves.
He quickly shook his head as he made an attempt to get rid of his cockiness."That's pretty good." he commented. It cold be better but this is your first day." Hmm, maybe the boy would stay after school to go ahead and be taught. Nahh, even if he did Saito wouldn't do it. He hated staying after school as a student and teacher. He rather be outside and just walk around for hours with nothing to do than be in detention for ten minutes. After all in detention you have someone staring at you.

Ever so slightly did Damien turn his head to see a couple of the other students and their work. He had only looked as if he were staring off into space, but he knew how to act it out without being seen. Some of the objects the others formed had only shifted with more lumps and chinks. Others grew elongated but not fully into something. He even swore one look liked a whiffle ball, but not round by any means. He didn't want to feel like he was gloating, but he had felt he did better than a majority; but his ego didn't have a chance to rise before his inner thought became apparent.
Why? Deverux questioned his own ability into the situation. How did I, over everyone else, seem to be the biggest success? I didn't even know about alchemy until I cam ehere... How odd.. He sighed very softly, releasing a small amount of air in a soft whooshing noise. He couldn't quite understand how someone so amateur could be a natural. It wasn't anything natural to him. Damien places his hands on either side of the bowl, lifting it. It weighed the same. It looked like the same material; just warped differently. He traced the transmutation circle with his right index finger, as if he would coax the answers from its mysterious riddle.
Mr. Saito spoke then and it startled him a little bit. His body was rigid and he had immediately posed himself straightly. It was uncomfortable, but it was how he was taught.
"Thank you, Mr. Saito. I didn't think I'd actually do this well, either."
Damien's eyes focused on his misshapen bowl, and did not allow his thoughts to travel. Thinking too much could be a troublesome thing at times and he didn't want to read too much into something that, in its own essence, is as mysterious as it was when it was first discovered. Highly dangerous without useful knowledge, though...
Just then, though, did Deverux sense a little smugness. He didn't know why, the teacher was an alchemy teacher for a reason wasn't he? He was already the best. Maybe... he could just improve the stature of his bowl by making it look like he transmuted it better by using his skill. Damien's left hand extended to towards the bowl and his index had barely began to touch it when it started to glow very faintly. The bowl itself became a blur as the magic eluding from Dev's fingers and palm began to stitch, heat, and mold the pot into perfect condition. He could never describe his talent, but he knew it was just to heal or repair.. And it didn't do much bigger objects than that. He had tried. When he pulled his hand away, the bowl was in perfect condition; shimmering like freshly shined metal.
"I guess it's second times the charm for me." Deverux said slyly, as if to hide the fact he had an ability.

"Thank you, Mr. Saito. I didn't think I'd actually do this well, either."
Modesty, now that was just the opposite of Saito. Speaking of which, how come he kept on saying his first name and not his last name? Whatever, it doesn't matter much, his first name was shorter anyway. Besides, he couldn't say he liked his surname much anyway. It was something he found a bit too strange. Sumeragi, that sounded noble or something and that was something he wasn't. He was arrogant and a showoff to say the least, not really that noble. If he knew he had talent, he would not be afraid to show it to people. That was the kind of person he was after all since well it was fun to get praised. It was also one of the reasons why he would like to talk to adults and sound intelligent, so they would praise him due to the fact that he looked sixteen.
Once again the student tried and the teacher eyed him. This time, the bowl was a lot better, fixed even. Wow, the kid really did caught on quickly. The thought made him smile for a bit. Yeah, looks like he might have competition. Well at least it won't be boring that way. He stifled a chuckle at that thought. He was pretty sure a teacher was not suppose to think that which served to amuse him. He really didn't act like a teacher at all now did he?
"I guess it's second times the charm for me."
The boy nodded at his words. Yeah, second time the charm. Although the tone made his student no longer seem modest but arrogant. Okay, now that just called for competition didn't it? After all, he was going to use his trump card to see how impressed the guy would be. The look on his face motivated him but not as much as the challenge. That is if there was even a challenge as it was mainly in his head. One of the curses of being competitive.
He took his earring off and placed it on the table away from the sign. After all it would be best to show him the trick and amazed him that way. He put his hand over the earring and it transmuted into a gun. It wasn't a big gun though but rather pretty small seeing that it was only a pistol. Although he'd be lying if he told the guy it didn't tire him out. Instead he quickly transmuted back into and earring he placed it back on his ear."Pretty cool huh?' he asked. It was obvious that he was pretty cocky since he didn't hold it back. What can he say, when good at something, why hold back right?

Damien smirked happily at his better creation and just slowly let his thoughts soothe his inner ego for the moment of catching a professional off guard. He soon let the ego and arrogance pass within a few seconds and redeemed himself as a good, modest student. He retracted his hands to set them neatly on his lap as he turned his head slightly to see the look in his teacher's eyes. They were smug before, but now they were a bit show-off like. What ever is he planning on doing to top this? Deverux thought to himself.
Mr. Saito had removed his earring, smiling to himself, which was more of a grin beneath it, and set it upon the desk. It was a strange material, none like the ones the students were working with. There was a soft light as soon as Mr. Saito had covered his palm over it. As soon as the light came, it went, and when his hand had lifted back to his side, a small gun was lying on the desk before Deverux. His eyes grew wide at the sight of the gun for moment and then he allowed himself to smirk at its existence. It was perfect in every way; tiny, but it was perfect. He was sure that if he had used his pinky to pull the trigger, it would have worked. However, he had known better than to have a gun on the premises, but much else to actually use one. Within the few moments of his thoughts, Mr. Saito had already withdrawn the gun into his palm and replaced it as an earring.
Pretty cool, huh?
Damien wasn't sure how to answer that. It could have been another kind of test, but he wasn't so sure about that. Ice cream with this teacher, and now guns. Something seemed strange that he would deliberately break a school rule just to trump Deverux's bowl. It was just a bowl.. nothing special, at least Dev thought so.
"Yes. That is particularly exquisite. Er... cool, I must say." He hadn't been allowed to even use such terms as "cool" or anything that the 'peasants' used. He disliked the fact that his parents labeled everything around them. How petty and unruly he thought. Wait a minute... did he just...?
"Mr. Saito..." Deverux's tone was even; neutral as he spoke. His voice was also in a whisper, but he knew that his teacher would hear him.
"You said that transmutation circles were not required to transmutate an object into another..." It wasn't a question, or doubt. It was merely a statement of observation.

"Yes. That is particularly exquisite. Er... cool, I must say."
Saito laughed at his words. The kid really needed to get a life. It's just the word cool. He uses exquisite? Not even the adults, or at least not the ones that he knew anyway. Really the kid has to go out some day if he use big words. The thought made him felt like a kid a bit so he lightly shook his head. He was not a kid, he was an adult, a complete adult. An adult that likes to hang out and hates work but still an adult. Besides, who in the world like work anyway? He was sure even the businessmen don't like work, they just like the money they get from it.
"You said that transmutation circles were not required to transmutate an object into another..."
The laughing stop at those words as he remembered the gate. The gate that brought him to this world. His face look solemn and his hands dropped dead to his side."That's normally the case but for some reason I'm different." he stated. It was the truth but not he whole truth. He knew why or at least had an idea of why he was able to do it while no one else can't. That gate has done something to him, even though he was not completely sure of what it was, he knew it had done something. He sighed at that. "Although it's better if you're one of those with a normal case." he added.
He stared at the rest of the class and to see how they did before he eyed Deverux. He added a light smile and stated. "So that means that you need a circle and I don't. That's pretty much it. If you want to try it without then go ahead." he stated with a light chuckle. After all what harm can it do?"Although I must say, I might just made a new rival today." he commented. His voice light as it was obvious that he didn't mean it. Although in a way he kind of did since this kid might just turn into a pretty good alchemist.
