The sounds of rushing cars could be heard across the alleyways, a red wolf hiding in between a trash can and a wooden crate. This place sure is loud... he thought, a small whimper leaving the pup as his ears tucked back, tail between his legs. He didn't fit in with the humans, so why did he come here? Simple. He wanted to find someone who would accept him, love him for being what he was; a wolf. But his heart was filled with doubt and disbelief at the thought, resting his head on the cold cement.

Akane was taking a walk throught the city to which she had never been. There were these things that people called "cars" and drove around in. The sound hurt her ears as they zoomed by. She lifted her nose in the air to remember the scents. Car exhaust, humans, asphalt, wolf, metal, more humans, trash, wolf - wait, wolf? Akane did not know much, but she did know that you do not find wolves regularly in cities.
She rushed to where the wolf scent was. Akane soon arrived to the spot in an alleyway. There she found a young, frighten-looking wolf. She knelt down and her eyes softened. Holding out her hand she said, "Hello."

Toboe's ears perked up, lifting his head and gazed at the girl. Whimpering, his ears tucked back again, lowering his head. It's been a long time since he's been around humans. But due to her scent, she wasn't human. The pup raised his head in curiosity, ears twitching as he whimpered once more. Hesitantly, Toboe walked towards the girl, sniffing at her hand then gave it a gentle lick.

Akane smiled as the young wolf licked her hand. The rough feeling of the tongue ran over her skin. "You curious about me?" She laughed a little and opened her mouth. Taking her index finger she pointed to her teeth, specifically to her canines. "See? That's not normal for a human. And here's something most don't see from me..." She crouched down lower leveling her head with the wolf's. Akane let her ears and tail appear. She flicked her ears and swished her tail to prove they were there. "I would change all the way, but there's the problem with clothes. I haven't learned to change form with them staying on."
She closed her eyes and smiled. "Usually, our kind don't get along with other types of dogs. No offense meant if you don't like the word."

Toboe tilted his head. "That's all right." he spoke, wagging his tail like a dog. "Oh! My name's Toboe. Glad to meet you!" he introduced.

Akane tilted her head to match. "My name," she said placing her hand on her throat. "Is Akane Okada, but just Akane." She nodded her head in greeting. "It is a pleasure to meet you as well."

Toboe, who was once a red wolf, then appeared as a young boy in front of her, a smile stretched across his face. It then disappeared at her look of shock. "Please don't be afraid..." he pleaded.

"Oh, I'm sorry... This isn't shock from fear," Akane shook her head. It was just unexpected for it to happen so suddenly. She smiled and stuffed her hand in the bag she was carrying. The reason that she was in the city in the first place was to buy some groceries. Digging around her newly bought supplies she said, "You seem hungry. Would you like something to eat?"
Akane pulled something out, but then decided to just let him pick something. She set the brown bag on the ground so he could inspect the contents. "Here, choose anything you want." Akane smiled again.
