Tackily prepared for the water, plastic orange swim goggles covered the Freeshooter's remaining gold eye and not surprisingly, knowing Xigbar, his oddly durable cloth eyepatch. He stuck half of his face from above the water, monitoring the premises of the school pool. Nothing out of the ordinary. If I was firing a projectile with a clunky shape it would go slower underwater than it would in the air because of the density...and may be more susceptible to sink...while one with a long and smooth shape would go faster and create less noise to the unsuspecting folk of Around The Pool. And it would be sure to blow up something...or someone...in the end. He grinned barbarically at this prospect. Swiftly ducking back under the water, he began to inspect the student body with his vantage sight, noting all the strange features that seemed to be apparent on the many diverse children. I wonder how that tail would look when it's shooting out of the water and up into the air, He mused, swimming past and trying not to bump into any of them. They might find him a little frightening after all. Surfacing once more, he heaved a sigh of frustration. He'd heard that many of the former Organization members had signed up to attend school here, not to mention Sora, but since he'd not seen one of them once since he'd arrived. And he thought planning a trip to the pool on a Saturday would aid him in his search. Guess not. " Ugh, this is so not gnarly," He sighed as he leaned against the wall on the deep end, the goggles suctioning his face but he redeemed himself too disappointed to take them off. [/ul]

Swimming. Was. Awesome.
Being underwater was one of the most fantastic things that life had to offer, and though he couldn't honestly say he enjoyed it after having lost his heart, it was still so very pleasant. The coolness felt so good against his skin, contrasting sharply with the heat of the summer sun, and the boisterous, joyful shouting from above the water seemed so muffled and distant from his place at the pool's bottom. Of course he preferred the deep end; the shallow end was little more than a screaming/splashing fest above and a tangling web of legs below, and while that was..."fun," sometimes, it could never come close to the comparable serenity of diving beneath twelve feet of water. Besides that...
He didn't have to pretend, here.
He didn't have to pretend like he was enjoying splashing about with the other students. He didn't have to smile, he didn't have to laugh, didn't have to worry about putting on a facade. He could simply rest on the bottom, gazing up at the bright sky through a filter of shifting blue, watch the ripples and the shadows of innertubes floating by. If he couldn't have fun, he could at least have peace.
He didn't have to smile, but he did have to breathe. As strong as his lungs were, they still required oxygen, and though he could very well cheat and create a pocket of air to use if he so wished, he knew he'd already been down there for far too long, and if someone noticed they might start to worry that he'd drowned or something. Bracing against the bottom of the pool, he launched upwards and reached the surface with a single kick, filling his lungs in one big gasp.
And then he saw Xigbar.
"Hrngfdglkjlgflfl?!"
And then he really was drowning.
"Xig--!" After splashing about like an idiot for a couple seconds, he started treading water like any normal person would do, plastering on that I-can't-believe-it's-not-real smile of innocence and waving to the other Nobody. "Long time no see! What're you doing here?"

" No way there would be a chance to damage his good eye. A nasally voice hit his pointed ears and he removed his arms from the shield point of around his face, opening his good golden eye at the boy in surprise. " D-dude! Deeemyyx!" He beamed, leaning back on the side of the pool with his arms like he was the King of the Pool, " I'm the Vice-Principal! What the hell're you doin' here?" Since Xigbar had looked into the student body, all he'd managed to see was Roxas, Axel, Sora, and that one kid Riku. Maybe he'd failed to check the rest of the list, since he'd been easily convinced, but nowhere on it was Demyx. That could mean there were more Organization XIII members lurking around this place than he'd thought. Gnarly.[/ul]

The gruff voice he heard was the same as he'd always heard it, and upon hearing his name in that voice, Demyx felt a flicker of something like joy. He hadn't been forgotten. That made it a little easier to pull off the fake smile, although the news that Xigbar was vice principal of all things quickly overwrote the smile with a look of surprise. Who in their right mind would make Xigbar vice principal of anything?
"Vice principal?" he echoed, his doubtfulness leaking a little into his voice. He covered it up with something of a nervous laugh. "What a coincidence! I just happened to enroll here. I didn't know..."
And neither did Xigbar, it looked like. Which meant that Xigbar hadn't been actively looking for him -- probably assumed he was dead for good, but...that...kinda stung. A little. Had the Organization moved on without him? And -- wait. Hold the phone. When did any of them have time for anything other than the mission?
Did they...
"...So...does that mean you did it?"
The look he gave was hopeful, but his inner thoughts were more turned towards pessimism. Xigbar certainly didn't seem any different -- on the surface, at least, and Demyx was usually pretty good at telling faked emotions from honest ones. Even so, he had been under the impression that the completion of Kingdom Hearts meant hearts for all Nobodies; unless it turned out to be only a select few, or...
...or his death prevented him from receiving one...
Did he really miss the gravy train?
