Cheza wandered the flower garden, her crimson eyes admiring the types of flowers around her. A gentle tune left her lips; a lullaby she used to sing to Kiba and the others, when she was with them. She missed Kiba dearly; her heart ached at the thought of not seeing him.

It was quiet out...more or less. Quiet wasn't really the word, as the mountains, like the beaches at Destiny Islands, were never truly quiet. Riku soaked it in anyway from a position up in one of the trees, experiencing the curious pleasure of sitting still and only watching without a word, his body totally at rest. It was almost like sleeping wide awake, dreaming reality.
The human sound of music drew him out of his contemplation of the sloping divide between the school and the next mountain over, and his eyes knifed in the direction of the disturbance even though he didn't turn his head. He probably couldn't be seen from his current position, but he didn't make any sudden moves just yet anyway. Instead he shifted subtly, looking over his shoulder for the source, and found it in the white-haired girl below. No...pink-haired? It was hard to say in the light.
Riku shifted again, onto his side so he could prop his chin on one hand, elbow resting on the bark. It didn't even occur to him that he was more or less being a peeping tom, if only because he generally observed things and not people--and it didn't take long for him to lose interest in her, aquamarine eyes chasing what looked like an old trail zigzagging up the mountainside.

Completely unaware that she wasn't alone, Kagome raced through the quiet meadow in the shadow of the mountain. It was filled with wildflowers, and as she ran just for pleasure, the petals and pollen seemed to leap from their homes and cling to her. As she emerged from the grassy knoll, the fragrance clung to her, enveloping her in a soft cloud.
Kagome dropped to the ground under a tall tree and leaned back against it, breathing deeply of the mountain-scented air. It smelled... cool, and fresh, and wild. Perfect for her mood today. With a sigh, she rested her head against the trunk of the tree and closed her eyes. It was a beautiful day, so why not take advantage of it for just a moment? Just a moment, she promised herself... but slowly her thoughts became more and more muddled and she silently drifted off into a light slumber.

Cheza noticed a young girl dozing off under the shade of a tree, a smile creasing her lips as she knelt down in front of her, singing her lullaby again. The girl looked at peace, Cheza thought.

Being up in a tree here was a little different from the paopu tree back home. At least there, he was still connected. Anyone could walk up and sit beside him. But here, no one would notice he was even there. It was a freedom for as long as he chose to remain unseen.
It got old fairly quickly. The mountains were beautiful but they didn't have the same pull for him as the sea, and he was starting to get a little sleepy. If he conked up here, though, he might roll off and break something. So, shifting his weight, he leapt down--
And completely didn't notice that two bodies had taken up that space until it was too late.
Fortunately enough, he managed not to hit them, but stumbled backward on impact and stepped on something that felt like a few twigs or something, but was slightly squishy. Almost like a human hand. Riku was too focused on the two there, though--when had pinky come over here, and where had the sleeping one come from?--and didn't notice. "...Whoa. Sorry about that."

Kagome was dreaming of home when suddenly... she heard... humming? But it wasn't her mother cooking breakfast; Kagome's imagination didn't know this song. Slowly she opened her eyes and looked around her...
And she came fully awake with a start. Scrambling to her feet, she took in the two people standing over her, watching her... "Holy Crap."
"I'm so sorry. I... I don't know where you came from," she said, slightly dazed and confused. She laughed nervously, flushing a little. "Um. Hi, my name is Kagome. It's nice to meet you?" She phrased it as a question, not quite knowing how to react to such and odd situation. Imagine, waking up to two people watching you... she shuddered delicately at the memory.

Cheza blinked her crimson at the girl, then a soft smile creased her lips. "This one is sorry for disturbing you. This one was just watching you sleep." she said gently. She then stood. "This one didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

The girl--Kagome--started off with a generic greeting, but pinky didn't even seem to notice Riku there and talked in a...really weird way that made him look at her funny and raise an eyebrow. He'd heard strange accents before--Maleficent had ridiculous friends back in the day including Captain Hook and his unusual adjectives, not to mention Sora's friend Donald Duck was occasionally impossible to understand. What he hadn't heard before was someone making a statement like "I was just watching you sleep" without considering the implications. It was one thing for Naminé to be keeping an eye on Sora, but most total strangers were uncomfortable enough being watched awake. What a weirdo.
"I'm Riku," he said when pinky didn't go on to introduce herself in turn. He shifted, slipping his hands in his pockets casually, and studied Kagome with a gleam of curiosity in his eye. "What're you doing falling asleep out here? It's not exactly safe," he added, eyes drifting to pinky briefly. She seemed like a harmless weirdo, but that wouldn't always be the case out here. He'd been taking note of most of the other students, and some of them already exuded an aura that said AVOID ME to someone with Riku's experiences.
