Which anime are you from: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Personality: Viral is almost always srs business, except when he's playing pachinko. As a soldier, he is dedicated and loyal, his responsibilities coming only second after his honor. He defers to his superiors, showing nothing less than than the utmost respect to them, and generally carries out their orders to a T; however, honor and chivalry come first, and he tends to willingly accept the consequences of disobedience over doing something he believes is dishonorable. He is far from the paragon of morality, however; he is very much the type to hold a grudge, doggedly pursuing the offender of even the most insignificant slight against him, and tends to take a somewhat twisted pleasure in inflicting pain. Still, he's motivated more by what he believes is fair and right as opposed to doing things for personal gain, and nothing will deter him from at least that.
History:(OMFG SPOILERS)
Viral was a commander of the Eastern Branch of the Human Eradication Army, a squad of Beastmen whose job it was to seek out and eliminate any and all humans that escaped their underground villages and appeared on the surface. His first run-in with Kamina occurs while he's out hunting for food; they both go after the same prey, encounter each other, and proceed to engage in fisticuffs over it. Yoko interferes with her ENORMOUS ZOMG GUN and tries to shoot Viral, but Viral dodges it with his awesome shark-cat-like-reflexes. Realizing he is outnumbered, he jumps in his Ganmen, Enki, and pummels the crap out of Gurren Lagann until dusk, at which point he retreats due to some weird Beastman code or something. He comes back the next day to eradicate the rebellion on the surface, but Simon and Kamina do the fusion dance and successfully beat himoff.
Viral comes back later to exact his revenge on Kamina, is beaten again, goes to get General Thymilph (his boss) to beat him up, kills Kamina but is bitchslapped to the other side of the world by Simon in his hijacked Dai-Gurren, gets beaten up by General Adiene, tries to get General Adiene to beat everyone up but fails, is the only one to survive, accompanies General Cytomander to defeat Simon, disobeys the General's orders to kill him on the grounds that it would have been dishonorable in that situation, and finally everyone gets fed up with his shit and asks the Spiral King to have him executed. As his last request, Viral asks the Spiral King why he can't defeat the humans when the humans are supposed to be the weaker race, so the Spiral King tells him the truth about the universe and everything (42) and makes him immortal.
Viral assumes that this means he can defeat Simon now, but Simon crushes him just as easily as before, and the Spiral King tells him that he was made immortal so he can forever tell the story of the Spiral King's epic win against the humans. Of course the Spiral King epic fails and goes and dies because Simon is awesome, and as Teppelin collapses, Enkidu disappears, and Viral is presumed dead.
However, Viral is not only awesome, but he's immortal, so of course he survives. His whereabouts are unknown for seven years, though it is hinted that he may have taken part in some anti-government activities against the new order that had risen up out of the Spiral King's defeat, and eventually, he is found trying to save some humans from being forced to live above ground. He is captured and thrown in jail, where he probably dropped the soap on a daily basis. Simon joins him in jail later and they do a lot of naked fighting before the prison guards get all pissed and throw them in isolated cells to wait for their death while the moon falls.
Yoko busts Simon out of jail, who busts Viral out of jail and recruits Viral to help in the war against the Anti-Spirals. Viral graciously accepts and from thereon becomes a member of Team Dai-Gurren, piloting Gurren Lagann alongside Simon. Huge explosions of drills happen and the most epic battle to ever take place in the history of anything ever occurs, Simon explodes into over 9000 drills to defeat the final boss, and everyone is saved. Viral attends Simon and Nia's wedding, and from thereon is appointed as the commander of the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren as a representative for Earth in the Spiral Peace Conference.
