About the Character
Name: Saïx
Age: Looks between 23-27, though far less in reality
Anime/Game/OC: Kingdom Hearts (II, 358/2 Days)
Personality: Saïx is calm and coldness personified, possessed by an icy composure that leaves no quarter to anyone foolish enough to oppose him. Unlike his fellow human Nobodies, who use their memories as shields and pretend to have emotion, Saïx dispenses with such a waste of time. He does not bother to hide behind fake masks save one that betrayed nothing to anyone. Even when compared to Xemnas, who would be theatrical as well as stoic, Saïx still edges him out as the most emotionless. Only in battle, when in the light of the moon, does he display the mad berserker side of him unleashed by battle, snarling and shouting like a psychotic. Leavened of his emotions along with his heart, Saïx became detached and cruel; indifferent to the plight of others simply because he could not care less how they feel. He does not take pity because he can’t. This allows him to act terribly against other people, manipulating them and toying with their emotions without a twinge from his non-existent conscience. Ironically, the one who has completely embraced the emptiness of being a Nobody is also the most fervent and dedicated to the goal of attaining a heart and coming back to true existence. Despite all of his impassive manners, all of his coldness and cruelty, the one thing Saïx only cares about is the goal of the Organization that is to truly, finally exist. To that end, he will stop at nothing to accomplish that goal. No matter the cost.
History:
SPOILERS FOR THE LOT OF YE
Saïx was the first recognized Nobody to enter the Organization after the original six, though he and the Nobody who would become Axel joined at around the same time. His and Axel’s Others had been friends but their relationship splintered when the two became Nobodies, the two drifting further as Saïx ascended the ranks to become second-in-command and became less and less like the person Axel knew him to be. Both had joined the Organization with a plan to destabilize it and seize control for themselves. Saïx eventually became second-in-command in the Organization through a combination of his evident skills and Axel’s help, having orchestrated most of the events that would lead to the slaughter of half of the Organization in Castle Oblivion. What ultimately broke down their plan was Saïx losing sight of their plan, descending further into the emptiness of a Nobody’s existence and Axel drifting from him towards the friendship of Roxas and Xion.
Saïx’s main job is the coordinator of the Organization. While Xemnas is left up in the Altar to brood and plan, Saïx takes care of the dirty business, organizing the missions, assigning members to them and making sure that they accomplish those missions to the letter. He also acts as the middleman between Xemnas and anyone else in the Organization. For the majority of Roxas’ tenure in the Organization, Saïx remains in the Grey Area, doling out endless missions to each of the members. During this, Axel covertly executes their plan, exterminating the Organization members Saïx sent to Castle Oblivion, moving him up the ranks. Still, whatever friendship they used to have was disintegrating bit by bit as Axel’s friends, Roxas and Xion, leave the Organization and Axel is tasked with bringing them back to the Organization by force. Soon, after Saïx fails to prevent Roxas from leaving the Castle That Never Was, his bond with Axel is completely severed, all ulterior plans discarded and forgotten. From then on, their former relationship would no longer be brought up. They would remain only fellow members, no more, no less.
Saïx first came into the sphere of Sora’s attention along with the surviving members of the Organization, shorn of all the members lost in Castle Oblivion along with Axel and Roxas. He doesn’t offer any comment beyond, “You’re doing well.” Instead, Xemnas does all of the talking. Saïx doesn’t appear again until Sora’s second visit to Twilight Town, where he appears after Sora saves Seifer’s gang from Nobodies, after capturing Kairi from Axel. Revealing his face for the first time, Saïx warns Sora and his friends of Axel’s duplicity, brushing aside Sora’s taunt of “not having a very organized Organization.” He opens a portal into darkness and, upon hearing Sora’s intent to jump in after him, warns Sora to not even think about it, reminding him of what happened to Riku. He leaves Sora behind, confused and angry.
During the Battle of 1000 Heartless in Hollow Bastion, Saïx appears in the Dark Depths, interrupting Axel’s and Sora’s conversation and forcing the traitor to flee. Sora demands that he be allowed into the realm of the dark, wanting only to find Kairi. Seeing an opportunity, Saïx asks for proof to see how much Sora cares for the captured girl. Sora goes as far as actually getting on his knees and begging desperately to Saïx. Saïx coldly refuses Sora’s plea, serving to anger Sora. He further reveals Organization XIII’s true goal: to use Sora to release as many hearts as possible, creating Kingdom Hearts and allowing them to be whole beings. This serves to further confuse Sora. At that moment, Maleficent appears, declaring that Kingdom Hearts is hers alone and summons Heartless to attack Saïx. He calmly summons Nobodies to destroy the Heartless. Maleficent protects Sora from the wave of Nobodies, opening a portal of darkness that swallows Sora, Donald and Goofy away from Saïx.
At the World That Never Was, Saïx appears at the Soundless Prison, telling Kairi how she acts as bait for Sora, the "fire that feeds Sora's anger." Kairi is then freed by Namine and the two try to escape only to be blocked by Saïx and two of his Berserker Nobodies. Saïx commands his Nobodies to apprehend the two only to be stopped by Riku, still in the form of Xehanort’s Heartless. Riku slams Saïx against a wall only for Saïx to conjure a portal behind him and sink into the darkness, smirking. Saïx teleports to the Hall of Empty Melodies, where he once again confronts Sora. He directs his attention to the near-completed Kingdom Hearts, asking Sora if he could hear their euphoria. Sora demands for Kairi, which Saïx responds that she’s catching up with her “friend from the darkness” and telling Sora that she doesn’t need him anymore. Unlike earlier taunts, Sora is not swayed by Saïx’s mocking. Saïx summons more Heartless for Sora to destroy. He then sees Maleficent and Pete and teleports away, wondering if the intrusions will ever end.
Saïx appears to Xemnas up at the Altar of Naught, asking if he could end this charade. Xemnas replies with an affirmative which causes Saïx to smile gleefully. Saïx awaits Sora and his friends at the Addled Impasse, gazing lovingly into Kingdom Hearts and soaking up its power. When Sora and his friends arrive, he calls Sora “Roxas” and responds to his denial by brandishing his claymore, ready for a fight to the death. Despite the power of the moon aiding him, Saïx was beaten, calling out to his lost heart as he faded into the darkness.
Role: Vice Principal
Weaknesses: Complete disregard, along with vicious cruelty, for other people’s feelings leading him to be ‘out of touch’ with normal people, a mentality to follow the orders of Xemnas, outside of the moonlight, his strength, while still somewhat formidable, wanes and falters.
Strengths: Always calm and never breaks concentration, never allows emotions to get in the way, given that he possesses none, acts logically for most times, has complete loyalty to the Organization, a skilful manipulator, able to play with people’s silly emotions like a consummate professional.
Weapons/Magic: Saïx wields a specialized claymore named Lunatic and utilizes the element of the moon, charging himself with more power when soaking up the moonlight.
How did you come to be at the academy?: After assessing that a rather alarmingly large proportion of Organization members have popped up in the school, along with the Superior as Principal, Saïx decided to ingratiate himself in the campus as well.

It never ends.
In the blue wasteland surrounding the giant Hollow Bastion, Saïx looked down at the horde of Heartless knights, moving slowly but surely towards the tiny settlement grappling at the great castle’s feet. Even in this barren world, one unfit for a glorious title such as ‘Radiant Garden’, life clings on, refusing to bow down and be destroyed. This world was home to darkness for eons. This was where the denizens of darkness were first birthed, the abomination Heartless that would grow and infest the rest of the worlds. This was the origin of so much misery and so much darkness. Men like Xehanort and Ansem, possessed of that insane drive to conquer and plunder, to go where no one is meant to go, to break the limits of what’s right, these were the kind of men born in this place. Their arrogance and carelessness have turned this once verdant paradise into a wasteland of death, shorn of anything that would make it beautiful.
But still, life goes on.
From the distance, Saïx spotted the Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee, valiantly fighting through the horde of Heartless gunning for their small settlement. He saw their determination, their grit and tenacity in the face of insurmountable odds. They showed no sign of weakness and held no quarter for the cold enemies they faced. Each one of them fought as hard as their bodies and strength would allow them to. Here at the back of the marching army, he could see their full breath and appreciate the enemy’s dedication to numbers and little else in terms of strategy. At the frontline, those opposing them would only see wave after wave of seemingly endless enemies, vanquishable but never ending. Yet they still fight on and on, never stopping, never halting. Saïx had to admire that.
Still, no time to be distracted. There was work to be done and Saïx did not intend to slack off. He raised a hand and clicked his fingers. Behind him, five Dusks teleported upon his command, slithering towards the superior Nobody. “Seek out the Keyblade Hero,” Saïx ordered, eyes still on the marching horde of Heartless. “Test his strength. See that he is fit for the coming battle,” In an instant, the Dusks teleported away, ready to carry out the order. Saïx knew Demyx was around in the world as well, waiting to go out and do that same thing. However, he cannot hope to trust a klutz and failure like him with such a task, given his track record within the Organization. They needed competence, not cowardice.
In earlier times, the Organization would’ve just thrown their own Keyblade Wielders at this mass of hearts waiting to be harvested and would have no need to play with the original Keyblade Hero. Of course, unfortunate circumstances have forced their hand and now the Organization has been whittled down and bereft of their former strength. Losing half their strength to Organization politics was unavoidable but, in hindsight, completely unnecessary. He and Axel had seeded so much chaos, culled so many members in their rise to the top. Now, at the cusp of the Organization’s greatest triumph, just as their goal was in their reach, Saïx had never felt so alone.
But he was always alone. Bleached of existence, only hanging on to reality by the tip of his fingers, Saïx relied only on himself to forge his way back. Even with Axel, he felt nothing. He had no friends, no close allies, only suspect colleagues and pawns waiting to be manipulated. The Organization was as fallible as any other human group; he had no doubt about that. The only being he could trust was the Superior, the oldest of them all. Everyone was unsound and imperfect. The only thing you could count on anyone is that they’ll let you down. At this point, Saïx had no allusions of failure. They were far too close to their goal to fail now. Nothing will stand in his way, no Keyblade, no Heartless, nothing.
High above the gorges of a broken, recovering world, Saïx watched and waited. His eyes were forever fixed on the large, heart-shaped symbol that adorned the castle once held by darkness. His face betrayed nothing.
