The forest was dark and everything was still. Well, as still as things got in a forest anyway. The trickle of the stream still echoed throughout the trees and little creatures rustled and chittered and sang up amidst shining black-green leaves and grayed out branches.
Nestled in the curve of a tree trunk with a few half-crumpled forget-me-nots clustered about her head was Xion, blinking slowly as her eyes adjusted to the darkness. As usual, she couldn't remember how she'd gotten here, but as she sat up and felt the pain in her arm and leg she realized she'd tripped. It took a moment, but she could remember enrolling--she could remember riding the bus to the school, seeing the other students in their uniforms and feeling almost like she was back in the Organization--and then she saw someone. Xemnas? Saïx? Roxas? She couldn't remember now--whoever it was made her run until she tripped, and everything after that had gone dark.
Mystery solved.
"Uhn..." What'd I go and do that for? It didn't fix anything... Running away never had. It was only when she faced things head on that she finally understood.
But that was then, and this was now. Everything was in pieces. She knew so because no one had come looking for her. And she could hate that--she could sit here and feel sorry for herself and how unfair it was that she was even here, but that would accomplish nothing. It wouldn't even make her feel better, because she couldn't.
So Xion got to her feet, hissing and almost stumbling into a tree at first. This was far better than many of the injuries she'd suffered at Heartless claws, though, so she gritted her teeth and started looking for a way out of the dark.
