Will smiled as he saw the look Kagome gave to Luke and it grew even wider as he saw her walk over to edge of the pool. He was amazed as she flipped into the water. She came swimming over to him and he couldn't help the way his face must of lit up. Kagome, even thought he'd just met her, was great. She was nice, very pretty, and had beautiful eyes that sparkled like diamonds. He hoped he wasn't fooling himself, but he kind of thought that she was into him just a little. He could definately tell that he was into her quite a bit. Will knew that this wasn't going to be a person he'd forget, just a fun night in the pool. No. He was going to think about her, a lot. In a way he was glad, and the hope that she may kind of like him too made him even happier. He knew his face would light up the same way everytime he saw her.

A few seconds later he felt a tug on his ankle and he went under laughing. He flailed his arms rather wildly, taking in mouthfull of water. As he slid under the water he opened his eyes and took a quick breath. Will saw Kagome floating out in front of him and got an idea. He waggled his eyebrows for a moment and swam up to the surface, catching his breath and then coming back down to show off his flipping skills. Will flung his head back and made a circle with his body and then did it again. And again, and again, he did 14 flips and counting, beating his record of 12. He stopped and let his mind come to a stand still before looking back at Kagome and smiling. He laughed, trying to seem nonchalant but his heart was moving a mile a minute. "What a dope you are." He thought to himself. "Flips? Are you serious? Yeah, that'll impress her." He made a mental eye roll but kept smiling at Kagome, his heart still pounding in his chest. He was really hoping she didn't hear.

Kagome laughed to herself as she surprised Will with a dunking. However, he was laughing as he went under, so she didn't feel bad at all. Curious as to what he would do next, she took another breath of oxygen and surface-dove to watch him. She opened her eyes and saw him... doing flips? She giggled underwater and stared as the muscular young man flipped over backward, again and again and again... she counted. Fourteen times.

Impressed by Will's outpouring of physical exertion (she knew it took a lot of oxygen for his muscles to do that), she watched him laugh as soon as he finished. Kagome returned his smile, and swam mermaid-style over to him. As she approached, Kagome felt a slight pulsating in the water... like a rapid heartbeat. She swam right up to Will and placed her hand on his bare, wet chest, trying to feel. Yes, it was him. She laughed, nearly inhaling a lungful of water.

Then she moved closer... she was nearly out of air, but there was one thing she had always wanted to do. Leaning toward her fellow swimmer, Kagome closed her eyes and took Will's face in her hands, treading water gently.

Then she pressed her lips lightly to his.

Will's heart probably skipped a beat as Kagome pressed her hand on his chest but when she kissed him his heart almost stopped altogether. There was a slightly warm sensation that could of made him melt. Though he was almost out of air, he toughed it up and pulled her closer in his arms. One of his hands fell behind her back, pulling her closer still, his other hand reaching under her thigh and pulling it up wistfully. He began to get dizzy but he didn't know if it was from lack of oxygen or the kiss.

"WHOA" He thought to himself. But as soon as she kissed him all his thoughts went pretty much blank, wrapped in the kiss. It was hot. Very hot. Hot enough to really make him melt. And it felt good. He liked the feel of her in his arms, their lips touching. They were really close and he was losing air still but he really didn't care, he'd faint if he had to, he was way lost in this kiss.

Kagome opened her eyes in surprise as Will quickly returned her kiss. Her hands were still trapped between them, not that she minded... but when Will's hand slid to her back and he hitched her leg up, her eyes opened wide in surprise.

She didn't have much of any experience with guys. At all. But she did have to say, this was very... pleasant. She felt warm all over, despite the coolness of the water. And she was completely breathless...

So breathless. But she didn't care. Kagome deepened the kiss and threw her arms around Will's neck, wrapping her free leg around his. She felt hot all over, but it felt good, so good... All of a sudden, she began to feel quite dizzy. Really dizzy. And her vision started blacking out. With her lips still moving against Will's, Kagome passed out from lack of oxygen.

The kiss got all the more intense as Kagome wrapped herself tighter around him and he was pleased with that. But, Will's eyes flashed open as he realized Kagome fainted. He felt it when her lips stopped moving. Feeling dizzy himself, he struggled to peel her off and get her to the surface. He came up, gasping for air desperately and carrying a blacked out Kagome in his arms. Will swam over to the nearest side of the pool, the opposite side of where Luke now sat, C.C leaving while they were still under. As he gently layed her down on the concrete he pushed him self up and out of the pool, sitting beside her. He tried to remember his two years of lifegaurding at the local beach back home. He knew she didn't take in any water so she didn't need pumping, she just needed air. He leaned down, pinching her nose and tilting her head upwards at the same time that he kept her mouth open. His mouth met hers, for the second time tonight and he tried to wake her up with mouth to mouth.

Will lifted his head, gulping in more air, and leaned back down again. He repeated this a few times, felt her heartbeat, and listened to her lungs by pressing his ear to her lower chest. When he her breathing got even he sat up and rested his hand on her head. "I shouldn't have kept you down there that long." He said quietly. He knew she'd come around soon but he didn't know how soon. Hopefully within the next few minutes. He wiped away some strands of hair from her face, pushing them back gently. Will leaned in close, his mouth next to her ear and whispered "I...Love you, Kagome. Please, wake up. I love you." He knew it was true now. He really liked her. A lot. They'd had an instant connection, made out underwater, now he was tryin gto save her. He really hoped she loved him back. "I love you." He said again. His mouth moved from her ear to hover over her lips for a moment, lingering, and then he kissed her gently.

Kagome stirred as she felt a head pressed to her chest. She had to admit, coming around in a guy's arms while he was breathing into her was kind of... sexy. A hand was put to her forehead. Will's. She heard him saying something, but couldn't catch it for the loud roaring in her ears. As soon as her head cleared, she understood.

Love? He LOVED her? In her mind, Kagome was flattered but confused. She had just met the guy! But their instant chemistry was unmistakable and intense- they had just had a steamy kiss underwater, for Pete's sake! She could not deny the inevitability of it- which was why, when he said he loved her, her HEART leaped for joy and began to pound wildly against her ribcage. The thought flitted through her mind to return the romantic sentiment, but she couldn't quite yet. Soon, though. Soon.

As Kagome felt Will's gentle kiss, she smiled into his lips. "You did it all out of order," she said softly with a small pout, pausing to kiss him every few words. "First," (kiss) "you're supposed to ask me out." (kiss) "Then actually take me out." (kiss) "Then we go on a few more dates," (kiss) "and THEN you can tell me you" (kiss) "love" (kiss) "me." She touched her lips to his one final time and let her head rest back, forgetting about the school, forgetting about classes, books, assignments, teachers, students, forgetting their surroundings, forgetting even Luke and C.C. (who had left). It was just her and Will... and at the moment she was so lost in his eyes and in the heat of his gaze that she forgot even her homesickness.

With a sigh, Kagome sat up carefully, not wanting to move too quickly. The boy HAD just made her faint, after all. She looked deep into this eyes, noticing their intensity and the way the moon- and star-light glittered in them. Reflections from the dark pool danced across his bare stomach and chest, drawing her stare. Kagome blushed. She had seen and appreciated shirtless guys before, but never so... close.

Her breath quickened by his near proximity, and she leaned in again...

Will chuckled as she came to and told him he 'did it out of order' and continued on with a series of kisses. "Well, would you like to go out?" He smiled, still leaning over her and kissed her again. "And for the record, I think you love me too." He grinned and backed up a little as she tried to sit up, his hand on her back the whole time, making sure she didn't fall. "Are you ok? You scared me there." He said, still smiling. His hair was all slicked back with water, bathing suit dripping, but he didn't care if he was wet, and he didn't even feel the cold. All of his attention was on Kagome. He touched her arm lightly and let his hand slide down to grasp hers. As she leaned in again he did too, closing his eyes and intertwining his fingers with hers. They kissed again, he held her there for a minute, his other hand moving to her waist.


He broke off, not wanting to keep her there for a long time. "Gah, I'm going to take away all of your oxygen if we kiss that long." He chuckled and looked her in the eye again. They were beautiful, star filled and swimming just like the pool. Then he took in her wet body. "You must be freezing." He said, getting up to walk across the pool and get his towel for her.

Sighing into Will's mouth, Kagome decided that kissing was very nice indeed. Especially with Will. Especially when that kiss was followed up by him asking her out. Inside, Kagome jumped up and down and laughed and cried and screamed in wonder... but on the outside, she played it cool. "Sure," she said, smiling. "I'd LOVE to go out with you." She chuckled at the word love. "Pun definitely intended, of course," she said with a wink.

Kagome loved how Will kept his hand on her back, supporting, as she sat up. He checked with her to make sure she was okay. "Yes, Will darling, I am." Giving Will a pet name sent a thrill through Kagome right to her very toes, causing her to shiver. Will only added to it as he trailed his hand down her arm to hold her own, twining his fingers in hers. She smiled at the pleasant way their fingers fit together, as if their hands were made this. Her fingers were made to fit with his perfectly. And with his other hand on her waist, he kissed her again... Until he broke it off, claiming that he would take all of her oxygen. Pfft. As if she minded. But she understood that he was being caring and watching out for her. Then he got up with some lame excuse of her being cold. Yeah, she was wet, and the breeze was a little cool, and having just fainted surely didn't help, but still.

"Hey, I was warm until you left," she called coyly to him, hoping he'd get the hint. She smiled and shook her head. Already he was taking care of her, making sure she was safe and warm. She sighed in appreciation and got to her feet as well. Walking slowly over to where Will was getting her towel, she snuck up behind him and ran her hand lightly along his spine, in a way that would make someone shiver.

"We should go for a walk," she suggested, leaning against him.

Will laughed at her 'pun', kissing her again before she went on to say she was fine...while adding in a nickname. "Will darling? very nice" he thought to himself. Will chuckled as he heard Kagome say she was warm until he got up. "Well, then I'll make you warm again...after you dry off." He gave her a sexy smile as he grabbed their towels. When he felt her hands trail down his spine his back straightened up and he turned around to see Kagome standing there. "You shouldn't be up. Here..." He said. He took her towel and wrapped her up in it, nice and tight, then he quick dried himself with his towel, draped it over his shoulders and hugged her close and tight. "Warm yet?" He said in her ear, smiling. "And you know, your hands are cold." Will kissed her again, his arms wrapped tight around her waist. He moved his lips close to her ear and whispered "And where do you want to walk? Should you really be walking after you fainted?" He dipped her to the side, his hands still wrapped around her very tightly, and kissed her again. He stood up slowly, looking deep into her eyes. "You know..." He started. "You truely are beautiful". He smiled lightly, still looking in her eyes.

As he stood all the way up he got dizzy and fell back on a chaire that was behind him, Kagome still in his arms. "Whoa." He rubbed his head. "That was strange.You okay?" Will sat up and shifted Kagome so that she was sitting on his lap. "I just got really dizzy, I think I stood up too fast." He laughed. Sighing quickly he said, "Where was I?" He kissed her again. "You know, I still think you love me back." He grinned. "You know it's true."

As Will wrapped Kagome's towel around her, she decided it was nice to be taken care of. And he made good on his promise to warm her up, after he dried himself off and draped his towel over his shoulders. He kissed her and informed her that her hands were cold, so she put them in between their bodies for warmth, giving him a sexy smile as he put him arms tightly around her waist. Boy, it felt nice to be held. At his comment about the walk, she took one of her cold hands and put it on his chest. "Will, love..." she said with a tiny trace of sarcasm, "... I fainted. I didn't die, or have surgery, or even hit my head hard. I merely lost the ability to breathe for a moment..." and so she did again as he dipped her to touch his lips to hers. She kissed back in earnest, until he spoke...

"You know... you truly are beautiful." Her eyes opened wide as she stared into his. As he stood them both back up straight, he seemed to wobble a little and fell back into a deck chair, pulling Kagome with him. She gave a little yelp as she landed on his lap. Then he kissed her again... and again brought up the fact that he thought she loved him. He grinned at her.

Sighing, Kagome pulled her arms from the towel, leaving it around her body, and put them around Will's neck. She was sitting sideways on his lap, his arms still wrapped around her; she leaned her head on his shoulder comfortably. He may have been all muscle, but he sure was fine to sit on. Kagome kissed Will's neck below his ear, once, twice, and spoke. "Yes, I do love you," she whispered. "I don't know why, and I don't know how, but I do." More than a hint of passion was in her voice.

"About that walk... I don't think YOU're able to go, darling. I nearly made YOU pass out, this time." She wrinkled her nose cutely as she teased him. Sighing and snuggling into his arms, she laid her head back down on his strong shoulder. "What do you say we just sit here for a while? There's been an awful lot of kissing and oxygen-stealing... why not just talk? We can really get to know each other, and cuddle- there's absolutely nothing wrong with cuddling... and watch the stars? They're beautiful tonight..." she trailed off, staring at the beautiful night sky, yet still fully aware of the sexy young man that she was... sitting on...

Will sighed as Kagome stated she was fine and she hadn't gotten injured, just blacked out. "Well, you know, you scared me and I was worried! I think I have the right to be concerned, no?" He smiled when Kagome called him darling. "I like the sound of that." he thought to himself. "So, no walk?" He said to her. "Actually I think right here is fine." He kissed her again, smiling wide. Truthfully, he was happy right there with kagome in his lap. Ever since he'd met her and they'd started talking all of maybe an hour ago, he'd felt...brighter. It was kind of like she belonged in his lap. Even when he was holding her hand beside the pool before they fit perfectly, and when he held her it felt good. He really like Kagome and hearing her say she loved him back brought a smile to his face."I don't know either, it just happened." He whispered quietly. Will kissed the top of her head as she layed it on his shoulder and threw her arms around his neck. "I think talking would be a phanominal idea. And cuddling." Chuckling, he leaned back in the chair, still supporting Kagome, only shifting her slightly, and got comfortable. "And what shall we start with?" He sighed and looked up at the stars for the third or fourth time that night. "Yes, I think cuddling- and talking- would be very nice. Though, I'm sure I'm fine, I could take a walk. It's YOU that I'm worried about. I don't care if you just blacked out." He looked down at the girl in his arms, smiling. He did. He did love her. A lot. And like she had said, he didn't know why or how, he just did. "I'd kind of like to know about Japan. What was it like. It must be so different from here. Or Miami for that matter." He tried to imagine what the foreign country could be like but he'd never traveled much so he didn't know anything about Japanor many other foreign countries for that matter. What ever it was like it must be beautiful. Thinking of this made him think of Miami and his home. He missed it a lot. The beautiful water, the warm breeze, the tall, swaying palm tree, everything. Especially his mom. Thinking of his mom would have brought tears to his eyes literally, if Kagome wasn't with him. Before that night, if he starting thinking ofo his mom he'd probably start crying but not at the moment, at the moment he was very content, no more than content, very happy with Kagome in his arms, laying there and watching the beautiful night sky. "I love you." He thought silently to himself. He had meant it for both is mother and Kagome. "I would never have been this happy with Claire, not in a million years."

So, they mutually agreed not to go on a walk. At least, not that night. Maybe another time; she made a promise to herself to go on a walk with Will sometime soon. Kagome lifted her head slightly as Will readjusted himself, then settled back into him, quite comfortable, and quite blushing as he kissed the top of her wet head. Truthfully, that one little act of caring spoke volumes as to how he felt about her, she could tell. Will told her he liked her idea of talking and cuddling, mentioning that he'd like to hear about her home in Japan. He seemed to stare off into space for a moment, leaving Kagome to puzzle over what she should tell him about her home.

She loved Japan. There was no denying it, not even in her own mind. But many things had happened, things that were not pleasant to talk about or even to think of. Kagome didn't know how much she was willing to share, or even how much she SHOULD.

Taking a deep breath, Kagome turned her head into Will's neck so her voice was slightly muffled. "Japan..." she said with a sigh. "Japan, how I love thee... and how I hate thee." She raised her eyebrow, surprising even herself by her sudden odd poet's mood. Kagome knew that Will would probably pick up that there was a story there, and ask her about it. Sighing, she made up her mind to confide in this young man that she had just met but had instantly connected with... Love at first sight.

She snapped herself out of it and wrinkled her nose. Will smelled good, like guy and chlorine and some sort of masculine cologne all mixed together. It was quite pleasant, and she said it aloud. "You smell good."

Will out right laughed when Kagome started with the ”How I hate thee…” and then randomly moved on to ”You smell good.” ”are you trying to change the subject on me?” Be fore she had started talking about Japan he sensed some hesitation from her. Was she trying to avoid it? ”If you don’t want to talk about it I understand completely.” He gently stroked the top of her head, still looking up at the stars that glittered the same way Kagome’s beautiful eyes did. ”And by the way thank you, I might add you smell good too.” He chuckled and smiled to himself.

The girl in his arms was the girl he loved, and would always loved, so he didn’t push the Japan subject. Instead, he decided he would go with the flow and bring up another subject. ”So, what are your parents like?” He kissed the top of her head and, still stroking her wet hair. This night was turning out to be amazing.

"No," Kagome said innocently, "I'm not TRYING to change the subject. I just did." She eyed Will with a lazy smile, half-closing her eyes. She was kinda tired. It had been a long, interesting night. She closed her eyes tightly as Will stroked her hair, leaning into him with a sigh. She had never known such a happiness as this... except when she had been with InuYasha... Kagome sat up quickly and stopped her train of thought right there. NO. No way, no how was she going to think about him, especially right now. She was over all that. Settling back into Will's arms, she smiled up at him as he told her she smelled good too.

Kagome loved how considerate Will was. Even though she was sure he picked up on an untold story where Japan was concerned, he didn't press the issue, but asked about her family. Well, that was innocent enough, and Kagome told him of them.

"I live in an old Japanese shrine with my grandfather, who is its keeper. He took me and my mother and my little brother Sota in after my father died when I was young. We are slightly dysfunctional... Grandpa is crazy, but he understands me best and loves us all very much. My mother is amazing; she tries very hard to keep us all together and not fighting. Sota... he is an annoying little brother, yes, but I still miss him... I miss all of them..." she said wistfully, looking away from Will's face. Her mouth twitched as she thought of home, her family. Tears pooled in her eyes and she hid her face in her hands, sniffling.

Will sighed as Kagome's eyelids began to droop and he thought he should maybe wake her up and walk her back to her dorm, but before he said anything she shot straight up, eyes wide. "Um, are you ok?" He asked, his face a question mark and feeling frazzled. It was quite random and he was especially confused as she just non chalantly layed back down. Well, he liked it but he didn't get why she had just randomly sat up right. Didn't he smell good!?

Will listened attentatively as Kagome spoke of Japan and tried to imagine what her mother must look like and what'd it be like to live in a shrine. When she turned over and he heard her sniffling he hugged her really close, though they were close already, and kissed the top of her head a few times and continued stroking her hair. "It's ok, you'll see them again. I miss my parents and my home too. Especially my mother..." He held her tight to his chest, still kissing her wet hair. "She was the closest to me, but I'm not going to see her again." He closed his eyes and burried himself in Kagome's hair. His forehead lay snug on the top of her damp head and he could smell her sweet scented hair. "I love you..." He whispered. "Screw the first date."
