A sweet tune could be heard from the flower garden, flowing with the gentle breeze. Nayru was sitting on a bench near the rose bushes, singing a soft song that her mother sang to her; a lullaby.
"Lay down your head, and I'll sing you a lullaby. Back to the years of loo-li lai-lay. And I'll sing you to sleep and I'll sing you tomorrow. Bless you with love for the road that you go." she began, her baby blue eyes gazing at the clear blue sky above her.

Lavi could hear a soft melody as he was walking through the Vast Grounds. It sounded like a lullaby. He followed the sound until he found the source. A girl was sitting on a bench and Lavi walked up behind her.
"Nice tune you're singing." He folded his arms on the back of the bench and laid his head down. "Is there a name for it?"

The girl jumped in startlement, turning to face a red head boy and a smile formed against her lips. "It's called "Sleepsong". My mother would sing it to me every night when I was little." she informed.

The girl smiled. Cute girl, Lavi thought. Remembering that they had just met, he said, "Oh, the name's Lavi. I'm 18." Lavi extended hand toward the girl.
Wow, lucky! I meet this really cute-looking girl randomly.
By her outward appearance, she looked nice enough. But Lavi could never tell. Some girls were this way. Other girls were that way.

Lavi... Nice name, she thought. A warm smile appeared and she took his hand. "It's an honor to meet you, Lavi. I'm Nayru Calibur. I'm 18 as well." she introduced.

"Heh-hee." Lavi chuckled with a silly grin on his face. "Nice to meet you, too." Naryu had a pretty smile. Let's see... Lavi thought what he should say. Maybe a bit of background?
"I'm an Excorcist from the Black Order. What's your occupation?"

Nayru blinked as she heard him say that he was an exorcist. She blushed in embarrassment as she looked down shyly. "Well... to be perfectly honest, I don't have one... It's a bit embarrassing to admit, really. But I have one in mind." she replied.

Lavi noticed Naryu turn a shade of light red. "Oh! heh-heh... Sorry for that. I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable." She was cute uncomfortable too.
Well, he didn't have many friends in the Academy yet. So Naryu would be one of the first and he took a general interest in what she said. "So you said you have one in mind?"

Nayru smiled softly at his apology. "No, no. It's quite all right." she said sweetly. She heard his question and she nodded. "Yes... I've always wanted to be a singer." she admitted, giggling a bit and looked down shyly again. "Pretty silly huh?"

Naryu said she wanted to be a singer. And then she said that her dream was silly.
"No, I don't think that's silly!" Lavi laughed again. "I think it's great! Better to have some dream than none, right?" Lavi stood up straight and pointed to himself with his thumb. "My dream is to become Bookman."

Nayru smiled at his comment, then heard his statement on wanting to become Bookman. She blinked, her curiosity piqued. "Bookman? What is it, exactly?" she asked.

"Oh, yeah, sorry again." Lavi leaned a bit closer to whisper something. "By the way, don't tell anyone you know this, especially my grandpa if he ever comes to visit. I'm not supposed to disclose this information very lightly. Not even to those close in the Order."
Lavi straightened up again closed his eyes and lifted one finger in the air. "A Bookman records the history that occurs in the world and passes it down to each generation after. So when something big happens, we're often called upon by the Black Order for consultation."

Nayru listened intently to what he was saying, her interest growing. Once he finished, her eyes widened. "Wow... Sounds tough..." she then paused, giving him a heart warming smile. "I think you'll make a great Bookman someday... and don't worry. Your secret will always be safe with me." she promised.

Lavi scratched his cheek, another silly grin on his face. "I don't get the big deal, though. But that's good you're a secret-keeper. If that crusty ol' panda (my gramps) found out I told somebody, he'd probably whack me again! Hee-hee!"
Naryu gave him encouragement. He would return it. "And you, too. You''ll make a great singer. That lullaby sounded good."
{{**but i didn't notice any threads in the choir class... where's the teacher?!**}}

{{**To be quite honest, I'm not sure... We don't have a choir teacher yet.**}}
Nayru laughed at his statement, smiling when she heard his encouragement. "Thank you..." she said softly.
