Incessant and frustrating... her stomach growled louder as though to argue back with her. "Shut up..." she growled back and put her arms around herself. She flushed when she noticed one of the other kids starring. Was it really that loud? Ugh... that's what she got for skipping dinner last night, and breakfast this morning. She looked over the menu, sighing softly. It all looked good, making her little mouth want to drool at the thought. She walked up and placed an order of vegetarian lasagna, half a grapefruit, and a big cherry pepsi. She smiled and pushed back her long black hair, her bright crimson-purple eyes flashing as she paid for the meal and received the grapefruit and soda. She dosed the grapefruit in salt and used the plastic knife to cut it. Halfway through she got received her lasagna. She took her tray and went to any empty table. Her attitude problem had kept her from making friends... but she couldn't help it. People said things and she would respond without thinking. Perhaps... she should start thinking first. She sighed and took a bite of the salty sweet grapefruit, letting out a soft hungry groan as she continued to eat with much enthusiasm. She whimpered when the grapefruit shot her black shirt. She grabbed the napkin and wiped off her top, sighing yet again. Her dark jeans had sparkled designs on the bottom, swirling around her legs but stopped right around the knees. She liked sparkly clothes.

Kohaku wandered into the cafeteria. She hadn't been here yet. She walked around absentmindedly, marveling at the size and clean atmosphere about it. The smell of grapefruit wafted to her nose and she followed the scent to a table. A girl in dark and sparkly clothes sat there eating away at her lunch. She walked up to the stranger and stared at her.
"Salt on grapefruit is digusting," Kohaku bluntly said. "I prefer sugar."
She sat down uninvited at the table and pulled her scarf over her nose. Observing the other girl, she thought of a reason for her sitting alone. Attitude, perhaps? Kohaku laughed quietly and pulled her hat down over her eyes.

Lien shook her head. "Sugar kills taste... you might as well eat a tangerine." Lien socoffed and looked up as she watched the girl take a seat, obvious that they had never met so Lien tried to hold back the eye roll that she was sure would be inevitable. She tilted the grapefruit and pulled another piece out, and popped into her mouth. She licked her lips and adjusted in her seat. "I love salty food... even if it's supposed to be horrible for me. You only live once... might as well enjoy it since you never know when it will end." she shrugged and raised her hand up to lick some of the juice from it. "I'm Lien Braska." she gave a smirk at the other female who seemed rude as well... which was fine with Lien.

Kohaku pulled her hat up and her scarf down. She matched the Lien person's smirk. "I like salty foods too. Just not on fruit." She laughed a bit more. "Roll your eyes. You know you want to." Kohaku narrowed her eyes and smirked again. And tangerines tasted better than grapefruit. She lifted her index finger as she realized something.
"Speak of the devil..." Kohaku stuffed her hand in her bag-that-held-everything. She pulled her hand out and in it was a tangerine. Kohaku put it back in her bag and pulled something else out. "It's candy. Want some?"

Lien grinned a bit more... her usual smart alek smirk as the girl said she could roll her eyes. "I love salty fruits. Green apples and salt is good too." she watched as the girl dug through her bag, pulling out a tangerine and offered Lien some. "No i haven't eaten in a bit... I kinda forgot to so anything sweet hits my stomach before the solids get time to digest and I'll be sicker than a dog." she shrugged again, and picked up her fork to start cutting into the lasagna. "Tangerines can't really be devils... it'd be a bit hard for them to hold a pitch fork properly unless they are the ones getting stabbed.."

"Well, you never know Maybe the devil's living inside It could pop out at any moment And it won't any longer hide."
Kohaku blinked. "Sorry... Habit of mine." She grabbed something out of her bag again while taking the tangerine back out as well. This time it was a marker. She uncapped it and began to draw on the orange-colored skin. Kohaku turned it around to show the other girl. "See, it's holding the pitchfork." But in reality, Kohaku just drew the pitchfork on the skin. Childish, yes. But it worked.

Lien laughed... yeah this girl was cool with her. She picked up her plastic fork and poked the tangerine. "And now it's getting forked." she grinned and returned the fork back to working on cutting up the lasagna. "You didn't tell me your name..." she looked up at the girl again, this time expecting to be told a name. Lien might not have been too good at learning them but at least she gave hers when she first met people... a habit Mihkal had drilled into her till she did it without thinking. Finally the lasagna was sliced into bits and Lien grinned a bit as she picked up a bite and placed it into her mouth. A little slice of heaven. She licked her lips and swallowed the bite. "The food here is always so yummy..."

"Ah, sorry. Kohaku is my name."
Kohaku closed her eyes and let the various smells from around the cafeteria enter her senses. There was Lien's lunch in front of her comprised of the tangy smell of grapefruit and the tomato and cheese smell of the lasagna. She was still deciding whether she was hungry or not. Kohaku rolled the tangerine around on the table. Back and forth. Back and forth.
"I wonder if they have sashimi here..."

"Tuna, salmon, yellow tail, shrimp, and Mackerel. I think they have Octopus and scallop as well but i haven't tried those ones." Lien responded to the girl asking about the sashimi. She took another bite of her lasagna, enjoying the full flavors of it on her tongue. "What kind of sashimi do like best?" she asked, tilting her head up so she could gaze at the girl. "I'm more into tuna and salmon... but the Chinese part of me declares fish should be cooked." she laughed.

"Cooked fish is good, too," Kohaku said. "But there's this thing that every time I see raw fish I just feel like biting it..." She rolled the tangerine around some more. "I like salmon and octopus sashimi best." Kohaku laid her head on her arm and flicked the tangerine. Her eyes followed its movements.

"You sound like my old cat, Shinji." Lien laughed and shook her head. "That cat adored fish... but I really do love a good cooked fish. Fish cheeks are so tender and juicy. Not a fan of the eyes though..." she laughed and pulled a piece of mushroom from her food and placed it into her mouth, eating it slowly and licked her lips. "mmm... nothing better than veggie lasagna."

"Blegh... I don't like vegetables either..." Kohaku grimaced. She pulled her scarf over her nose again and started to peel the tangerine. Once the peel was off, she threw it to an open-lid trash can close by. Holding the fruit, she inspected it for seeds. After determining that there were none, Kohaku popped the whole thing in her mouth.

Lien smirked. "I love vegetables, fruit, seafood, and on occasion I endulge in steak, but not every often. I try to eat very healthy and enjoy finer foods rather than... pizza and cheeseburgers." Lien made a face at the idea. "Home cooked meals are the best... I love to cook and bake." she grinned. "Everything from scratch so you can really enjoy the true flavors."

"Yeah, I like seafood, too," Kohaku said. "Fruit is fine. Potatoes are fine. Really soft carrots and celery and cauliflower is fine. But steak is the best to me." Kohaku thought of a nicely done rare steak. No well done for her! The thought of it made her hungry.

Lien laughed and finished off her food, then licked her lips. "Ah... that was great..." she whispered and rubbed her full stomach. "I'm not a big fan of carrots or celery... cauliflower i love. I could eat it raw all the time. Or some diced up cabbage, tomatoes, and some mushrooms with a light thousand island dressing and a few eggwhites..." Lien sighed. "I think I will prepare breakfast for myself tonight so in the morning I can just microwave, eat, and go... skipping breakfast is such a bother.."
