Haruhi walked along the beach, her arms wrapped insecurely around her body. She was wearing her swimsuit- the one she had gotten from the Hitachiin twins' designer mother- but she kept covered up. She did NOT want to show that much skin... not when her beloved club members weren't around. With them she felt safe.
But... the more she thought about it, the more Haruhi realized that it wasn't that bad. Other girls were all over the place with bikinis that had about half as much fabric as hers. Setting her pack down in a shady spot in the sand, Haruhi quickly took off her shirt and shorts before she could change her mind. Rolling them up, she dropped them in the sand... and then dropped down next to them on her towel. Without Tamaki, the twins, Kyoya, Hunny, or even Mori, it just wasn't the same. Drawing her knees up to her chest, Haruhi sighed. She missed them.

"Well, it's about time you wore that" Came a soft voice from behind Haruhi "I was starting to think you didn't like it." Kaoru walked up from behind Haruhi and sat beside her. Wearing a plain pair of blue swimshorts and a pair of sandals, a namebrand beach bag was slung over his shoulder "You're lucky Tamaki isn't here" He said "He'd go crazy seeing you like that" He chuckled "How's it going Haruhi?"

Haruhi turned at the sound of the familiar voice. She thought she was imagining it at first... but, as her eyes locked on the smiling face of the newcomer, she knew there was no mistake. She got up quickly but calmly...
"KAORU!!!" she cried, and threw herself into his arms. "How are you? What are you doing here? Oh, Kaoru, I'm so happy to see you!"
She looked down at the swimsuit she was wearing and blushed. "I know, right? It's about time... I've always liked it, I guess. I just didn't really have an occasion to wear it, what with you and Hikaru being around Tamaki all the time whenever I wanted to go swimming."
She looked around Kaoru. "Are they here? The others- Hikaru, Mori, Hunny, Kyoya? I mean, I know Tamaki is here... but I don't know what he's up to right now... strange. I usually know what he's up to." Haruhi smiled. "Kaoru, it is VERY good to see you," she said, hugging him again.

A laugh escaped Kaoru as Haruhi threw her arms around him and hugged him. "It's good to see you too!" He said, hugging her back, all too happy to see the host club's secret princess. At the mention of the other host club members, the smile disspeared, replaced by a thoughtful look.
"I haven't seen the others..and..Hikaru.." He sighed "..I haven't seen him at all.." He shook his head "I've gone almost a week without him and it's just starting to sink in..I just hope he comes around soon,I'm really missing my older brother.." He frowned a little and shook it off mentally "Anyways, why're you just sitting here, huh? Shouldn't you be swimming?" An all-too familliar mischevious look appeared on Kaoru's face as he said this. He picked Haruhi up, slowly heading towards the water.

Hm. So Kaoru didn't know what Hikaru was up to, either. Strange- the two had always been nearly inseparable. Shrugging it off, Haruhi yelped as Kaoru scooped her up in his arms. "What are you doing? Put me down, Kaoru!" she yelled. "The reason I was just sitting was because... well, because I didn't have any of you around. You promised you'd take me to the beach, and then we never got the chance... So I didn't feel like going into the water just yet..." She slung her arm over Kaoru's neck, knowing that he wouldn't put her down until he'd had his way- and his "way" was headed toward the water.
Haruhi sighed. "Kaoru, not too big of a splash, please," she said, resigned to the inevitability of being thrown in the water.

Kaoru smiled a bit "You know me too well" He said and headed into the water himself, just when it was beginning to get deep, Kaoru tossed Haruhi into the water, and grinned "..There, now you can't say you didn't go swimming" His golden eyes were sparkling as he dove into the water, almost floating on it "..This feels really good" He commented, smiling, as he stared up at the deep blue sky above him. It was nice, being here with Haruhi. Though, he had to remind himself mentally not to go too far, because, well, he cared deeply for Haruhi, and didn't want to say anything. There was no way he'd ever make things awkward between them, he valued Haruhi's friendship above anything else.

The beach seemed a bit promising today. The weather was decent and the day started off decently. Death the Kid made his way to the near by beach in his dark black swim trunks and continued his way to the area. He had no idea what he was about to find.
His golden eyes widened as he saw a familiar face and one..not so familiar. "What?" He gasped. It was Haruhi...the girl he met at the bus stop and soon grew to like and...someone else... Kid marched over to them, ignoring the water that was now up o his waist.
"Haruhi!!!" He shouted as she came up from the water. He gave her a small wave and looked to the boy floating near by. He pointed to him with his thumb and asked, "Who is this guy?"

"Yes, I do know you!" Haruhi laughed. "You should remember this by now." Smiling as he dumped her into the water, she flipped over to surface dive and touched the ocean floor, then came back up to the top. Sighing, she floated on her back for a few minutes... then heard a familiar and most definitely welcome voice.
"Haruhi!!" Death the Kid shouted at her.
He came up to the water and stepped toward them a ways, asking her who Kaoru was. Was that... a slight amount of jealousy in his voice and eyes? She giggled. "There's nothing to worry about, Kid. This is one of my best friends, Kaoru! Kaoru, this is my... boyfriend, Death the Kid." She smiled. Sidling up to Kid, she stood right next to him and took his hand, twining her fingers through his. "You're not jealous, are you? Please don't be. I'm so not worth being jealous over. There are a lot more prettier, funnier, more special fish in the sea... so to speak..." she laughed.
