Up in a tree....

It was the same thing over, and over, and over again. Every day she just wanted something new and exciting to happen. To meet more exciting people. Someone that interested her. Something to do that interested her.

Mei had climbed up the biggest tree she could ever possibly climb up and found a nice strong limb to lay down on. She looked down at the majestic waterfall and the water... It would be nice to swim around in that cool, cool water... she thought. So what was stopping her? Well that was a small matter, and even so she didn't jump in. She ended up drifting back and forth between sleep and 'awakeness'.

Akane was taking a walk in the Forest of Light. The peace and quiet with the nearby waterfall added to her enjoyment. She wandered in happiness until she caught the scent of a human. Akane immediately stuck to the shadows of the trees.

She looked around to find the person. And in the treetops, she saw a human girl dozing on one of the branches. Akane decided to call up to her. "Excuse me, Miss! That tree branch might not be as sturdy as you think!"

Startled by a voice of someone, Mei quickly looked up, and in the process lost her balance and fell out of the tree. And into the waters of the waterfall. Swimming quickly up and out of the water, she choked and crawled back to where it was dry. Looking up, she searched for whoever said that.
She saw someone in the shadows, and couldn't see her clearly. All the same, she called out, "Who are you?!"

Peeking from behind a tree, Akane observed the human splahing up from the water. After determining that the other girl wouldn't be able to see her shadow, she stepped out into the light.

"I apologize for startling you. My name is Akane Okada." Akane bowed.

Mei nodded, standing up and brushing herself off.
"Oh. I'm Mei. Do you go to this school?" She asked.
Speaking of school, I should probably get back, she thought, considering going back but not moving at the moment.

Nodding her head, Akane thought for a moment. "Are you, by any chance, skipping?" Akane crossed her arms in annoyance. She hated people that skipped classes.

Mei shook her head.
"No I'm not skipping, it's like, a free period for me right now, one that's almost over..." she trailed off and sighed. She stepped up and headed for the direction of the school again.
"I really don't want to go back...it's so boring!"

Akane snapped and her ears and tail which she tried to keep down popped out. "WHO CARES IF IT'S BORING?! YOU SHOULDN'T BE COMPLAINING ABOUT IT! THESE CLASSES WILL BE WHAT HELPS YOU IN THE FUTURE! HOW CAN YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT SOMETHING SO VITAL IN LIFE?! THAT'S ALL I HEAR YOU DAMN HUMANS SAY. COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!"

She ended her rant and realized that she was complaining herself. Composing herself, the ears and tail disappeared and she straightened up. "Hah... Do what you will. But what you just saw never happened."

Mei stared wide eyed at Akane. Did she really just see ears and a tail pop out of her? But all the same she just rolled her eyes.
"I just said it was boring, I already learned all of this stuff two years ago! But I never said I was going to skip...." She grumbled out. When the girl calmed down, Mei shrugged.
"Oh it happened all right," she said, "But I can keep a secret," she added.

Akane blushed the lightest shade of red. "It. Did. Not. Happen." She pulled the skin below her eye down and stuck out her tongue. "Nyeeeh." Akane was being her childish devil-self again.

Straight Cougar was off for the period and decided to take a run. Yes. Another run. He liked running, mostly because he was good at it, but also because in order to live a long, healthy life, you need exercise! bah. It wasn't like exercise would really help him much. He just wanted to see everything there was to see. This school was so new, so amazingly beautiful. He had to get a glimpse of everything while running past. Maybe even stop for a few seconds and admire...a waterfall? he stopped in his tracks and looked around, which would look to the human eye like a man was appearing out of nowhere. He was standing in a forest with tall trees and lush plant life. In front of him was a waterfall, and two beautiful young girls. He smirked at them as he slid his shades down onto his face. "Shouldn't you girls be in school? or are you both on free period? Taking a stroll is a great way to spend a free period. Unless of course you're skipping, which would be bad."

The next moment he was at the edge of the pool, bare feet kicking in the water, and his boots behind him. "You've still got about eight or nine minutes left." He was saying, "If you aren't heading back, you should be doing so soon, right?" He brought a hand to his face.

Akane turned to face the person she heard approaching. Was he that 'zoom'-like sound she had heard? He looked like someone out for a jog. She blinked. "Are you a pervert?"

He did not look like one, but you could never be too careful. Akane snapped her fingers behind her back and prepared a flame just in case. "And no, we are not skipping. And if you're not a pervert, are you trying to flirt with people younger than you?"

Mei laughed. He was older than them? A lot older? Well he sure didn't look like it but Akane made it sound disgusting!
"Eeeww!!!" She exclaimed. She dropped the subject of Akane growing ears and a tail but of course she wouldn't forget.
"No we weren't skipping, well Akane definitely wasn't. But keep mentioning it and I just might be tempted to!" Mei 'threatened'. She was a rebellious girl and tended to do the opposite of what people wanted her to do. Then she wanted to do something. She snuck up where the 'man' couldn't see her and pushed him into the water and ran away laughing. Boy did she love doing that to people!
